The media is pushing the story: What happens if impeachment causes Democrats to lose next election?

There is little doubt that if Trump wins the next election and Republicans take the House and Senate, it will be blamed on the impeachment vote.

But, no one can guarantee it will be different if Democrats do not impeach.

On this issue, I stand 100% behind Speaker Pelosi. The defense of our Constitution is more important than any election. It's sad that so many politicians in Washington do not understand that.

We should ask ourselves: What happens if Donald Trump is not convicted in the Senate? How bad will it get? How bold will he become when he realizes he has the Senate behind him, no matter what he might do?

It is an historic time. It is a time we must all take a stand.

It is a fight which we must have. If we lose, the country loses. But the Constitution must be defended.

At all costs.

This is the script they are following since Biden is Trump’s biggest hurdle to reelection. Everyone else is a coin flip or worse odds in the general.

The Senate trial will probably be underway right as our primaries start, gonna be a huge mess.

I think there best defense is to say Trump pushed the boundaries of what is legal but didn't go far enough for removal. And they could argue that since it's an election year, the people can ultimately decide the president's fate.

Lots of people would have been so pissed they might not vote if there was no accountability.

I just get this ominous feeling we are spiraling the drain and have been for a while. republicans are destroying us.

If the GOP Senators doesn't convict, then they will be held accountable by the American people. The GOP senators will be seen as un-American and corrupt just like Trump. Voters are pissed at the GOP and traitor Trump.

Therefore the impeachment inquiry should be dragged out as long as possible. Dig deep for all the wrongs he’s committed...everything...repeat it...talk about it...never let any of his wrongdoing be forgotten. The public has a very short attention span. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Who testified last Monday? Can’t remember? But let’s talk about how many flushes it takes...the caption on a 2014 tweet...and any of the stupid shit that spews from his phonemind. While the media conveniently forgets the damming facts and moves on to his latest outrageous conspiracy theory designed to confuse and distract.

The longer that a trickle of new crimes keeps flowing out of investigations and old ones are repeated and linked to more, the better that information will be in the news cycle most of next year. If there is a speedy impeachment and senate trial it gives the public too much time to move on to whatever crap come out of his camp. Look what’s happening in front of our frustrated faces at this moment. Total lies, coverups, distractions designed to shake peoples faith in the truth plus ongoing efforts to rig the election.

Drag out these investigations as long as possible. Introduce new articles of impeachment based on what’s dug up. Mueller left a roadmap, follow it. If that’s not done...he will be a living martyr for his cause. He will express his “innocence” every other sentence saying he was right all along and the destruction of America will continue.

responsibility. With or without it the GOP might win. If there is a risk of going down, better to do it fighting for the honor of the nation than to not stand up for it at all.

We can win, though. It will not be easy. It will be an ugly fight. The Senate will not convict. Trump will retaliate. He will gloat about being above the law. But this might backfire on him. He gloated about grabbing women and look what happened in the 2018 midterms.

GOP defense in the trial will be that corruption investigation in Ukraine was necessary and legitimate. They will use the trial to do what they wanted Ukraine to do -- portray Biden as corrupt. They will try to "prove" corrupt collusion between Joe, Hunter, and Burisma. They will make it sound convincing to their followers and maybe to independents.

Moscow Mitch will use the trial rules to help the GOP. Impartiality from conservative CJ Roberts will be questionable.

The House prosecution will need to refute GOP claims about the Bidens clearly and decisively with the facts in the couse of proving the case against Trump.

...an irresponsible media can lead to the re-election of an asshole who cheated his way to a "win" over a candidate who had been vilified for 25 years and has a "strongly approve" number in the 20s, and a "strongly disapprove" number almost twice as high.

And, as I've said before, to not impeach this criminal asshole would set a horrifying precedent and message to future presidents.

Rather than concentrating on THE MERITS OF THE IMPEACHMENT.

Sure, when the Republicans railroaded Bill and later Hillary Clinton, their motivation was solely political...Blowjobs and Benghazi.

But this isn't a partisan attack on Trump, not at all. The man has sold us out in clear view of the world. He threatens our very democracy. I live in deep red country, and even though most of my idiot neighbors support Trump, in the end, they too will suffer the demise of the USA.

We exorcise this demon or we stand to lose our nation. It's that simple.

The media seems to be pulling for the wrong side.
