"SNIP....
The Democratic governor of Kansas has a higher approval rating that Trump as the president has fallen to a net 0 in the reliability red presidential state.
According to the Kansas Speaks poll from the Docking Institute of Public Affairs at Fort Hays State University, 52.7 percent of respondents to the survey are satisfied so far with Gov. Kelly, and 26.4 percent are dissatisfied. On President Donald Trump, 44.1 percent are satisfied, and 44.3 percent are dissatisfied.
Healthcare is one of Trumps biggest problems in Kansas:
Almost two-thirds 62 percent of Kansans support Medicaid expansion, said Dr. Jian Sun, a professor of political science at FHSU and the Dockings assistant director. Fifteen percent of survey respondents were neutral on the issue, and 23 percent did not support expansion.

(70,500 posts)Remember Kansas in 2018 made a woman who is a Native American Mixed Martial Artist Lesbian
lawyer a member of the House of Representatives.
And Trump is being exposed as the biggest crook in American history who was installed into the
White House in the biggest crime in American history in what was nothing less then an act of war
by a hostile foreign power and if republicans want to "hang with that" fine let 'em.
The trend is what matters.
And that's quite a trend, in such a short period of time.

(34,105 posts)NOBODY talks about politics anymore. Hardly anyone even answers the local political editorials, a few but always the same few.
Brownback left this state in such a mess that even if Laura Kelly was doing a terrible job she would be mostly seen as doing well. She has a shit load to clean up and she is steadily working on it against a very difficult legislature. If she could manage the Medicaid expansion I think things would change again dropping Trump further. People want to feel good about their lives and people in this state have had to buckle down just to survive.
I have a thought on the farming communities but I cannot say it because I have no proof that it is correct. I think we might see a big change in those areas but I do not think the tariffs will be the reason.

Point 1. Trump is self centered and selfish in ways no one predicted.
point 2. Trump lies about everything.
point 3. Most of us are not point 1. or point 2. Sometimes we fall into one of those categories, but we move out quickly back to our normal place. What can we say about Trump?...Think about the impression Trump has made with us, then think about people in Kansas, who certainly expected someone better than Trump.
............ Few people meet 1 and 2 perfectly(as Trump does,) and also hurt others as Trump does.
............ That explains it, and that explains it all.

Medicaid is largely a state-operated system.
First, get rid of the pa(r)asites. Then stick them and all their families into a grain silo to enjoy the rest of their lives.
