9. That "Defense" Is Not New

Trump, his minions and his fans have been vomiting that bile since 2017. Mostly because it had been pointed out that simply taking the Oath of Office put him in violation of the Constitution from Day One.

The thing is all Trump had to do was be on the up-and-up—you know: NOT committing crimes 24/7–and he would have been fine. His fans would have been all “fuck your feelings” just like they are now and the rest of us would have just had to accept it. There would be no investigations, no whistleblowers, no indictments. Hell, he might even GAIN some support for 2020. Even score a REAL landslide (400 Elactoral Votes or more) instead of the imagined one he always brags about.

But no, he has to be Donald Trump. Dick-and-a-half. His face is so punchable, I even hate that he’s required by law to have Secret Service protection. A good, firm ass-kicking would solve at least half the problems most reasonable people would have with the guy.

But that’s not why he’s being impeached. Donald J. Trump is being impeached because he’s a crook. And not even a GOOD one. The only reason he hasn’t been removed and jailed is the same reason he got elected in the first place: this country is so polarized we can’t even see straight. Makes me wonder if we’ll still be a nation in ten years time. Or will we be a Russian territory or something...

Lindsey Graham has been using it, and I encountered it on Facebook I don't know how many months back.

It's supposed put people on the defensive, or distract from the issues, or perhaps serve as yet another complaint that Trump is being treated unfairly.

Speaker Pelosi dealt with it adroitly, but her approach won't work for everyone, so it's best to come up with a variety of techniques to deal with it, starting with the ethical and constitutional context.

Hate...as Nancy Pelosi said, it’s a tough word. I try not to let my mental health suffer for his existence but he’s dangerous, sadistic, authoritarian, contemptuous and a hoard of things I do hate.
