like we we are climbing a slick oily wall. Slipping and sliding not making progress.
There is nothing to foreshadow the GOP tactic of digging in and standing with Biff will not work.
There is too much everywhere. What about the Durham report yet to be disclosed? Yes we know it will be crap but they dont care do they. We are dealing with a level of chaos never before heard of.
It continues, and its getting bigger. Its going to take some huge balls by some big names to get this thing, this monster, under control.

(18,486 posts)The Democrats and, yes, even the media, have given us more than enough to work with. Why just watch MSNBC passively waiting for them to tell us more and more and more - and getting kissed off if they don't? We already support impeachment, so whatvare we expecting them to tell us? Do we think the people who don't yet support impeachment are sitting around watching MSNBC and if Andrea Mitchell just talked about impeachment more, they would change their minds and come on board?
Those folks aren't watching MSNBC and certainly aren't likely to suddenly have their minds changed by anything they're reporting. They're at work, talking their kiss to school, going to neighborhood holiday parties and school hockey games. That's where we reach them.
So, instead of complaining that MSNBC isn't trying harder to change their minds, WE need to be working to change their minds. Talk to them, share information, ask the questions, etc. The Democrats have given us more than enough tools, but they can't reach into people's homes. We need to take some responsibility.

(16,616 posts)I can only add that I agree. It's suffocating at times. The truth seems not to be breaking through amidst the onslaught of gaslighting and Russian disinformation. And one of our major political parties seems to be completely compromised and morally dysfunctional. It's hard not to be pessimistic in general. And other important countries are going down too. We have to fight for our lives over the next 12 months.

(25,225 posts)How do you refute/combat lies when Trump and all his partners in crime band together and just spew lies everytime they open their mouths.
As long as they're able to keep the wagons circled their lies become reality and even 'fact checking' has little effect on penetrating these lies.
Think about their closed door meetings where they discuss their strategies to lie and lie on top of lies. I can't even imagine what evil lurks in these people's minds.
What is their end game when they appear to have all their ducks in a row? They scoff at impeachment. They conjure up conspiracies and use them against our intelligence community. They stack the courts. They work with our enemies and belittle our allies. They turn their actions and tactics around and accuse the other side of doing what in fact they are doing.
How does this end? What else is in store for us as we move through impeachment; aquittal; 2020 campaigning; and ultimately a Nov 2020 election?
I said it when we were shocked that Trump won in 2016 and I still believe it. We are in the midst of a coup e'tat. One that looks like it was years in the conceiving, planning, implementing and carrying out now right before our eyes.
How many people are involved in this and at what levels?
