that there isn't some kind of special protocol for dealing with a potentially compromised political campaign or that it wasn't followed to a "T"? Has there ever even been a situation where the FBI might have had to investigate a compromised political campaign until Trump?

He did mention perhaps needing special procedures if a political campaign is involved. (I think that was specific to FISA but might have been for counter intel investigations in general).

On the FISA process in general his complaints are not confined to just this case and is suggesting the process overall is borked. I'm just saying this isn't exactly a secret. It's common knowledge, and has been since FISA's creation. The Republicans seem to be taking the position that this is some big surprise and are even suggesting FISA may need to be scrapped.

Russian interference by suggesting the Democratic party, DNC, and Obama administration were paying for information on trump and that our own government is more corrupt than Russia.

They're playing dangerous mind games with American citizens. Their supporters are fed continuous lies, while at the same time living in a hate-fueled bubble.

He begins with a lovely thank you to career law enforcement and tells the FBI, "we've got your back."

Then as he asks a series of concise, obvious yes-no questions, he has trouble getting a straight yes or no from Horowitz. It's not complicated to say yes or no, and these are straightforward questions that are not trying to trip him on nuance. It's maddening.

with an additional thirty seconds of rebuttal disguised as further questions. It must be in the rules that the Majority can do that, but it's a bit of dirty pool. He may do this after each Majority member as well and I just haven't noticed.

The IG confirmed that whistleblower allegations are confirmed independently, so no need for “the accused” to meet his “accuser.” Look forward to see this in tonight’s impeachment debate.

I hate that I feel that way, but he had her BEAT in that 2018 Senate race--until he decided to try for the "Rabid Right" vote and announce support for ol' Rapey Kavanaugh. It had the opposite effect and he lost, thus, "Senator Blackburn."
