(18,486 posts)I'll never forget his smug, certain attitude a couple of nights before the Comey letter. It was clear someone on the inside was feeding him information.

(11,092 posts)I thought "leakers" were anathema to this administration. And, oh wait .. wasn't there a deputy directer (McCabe) who was summarily fired -- and is still facing criminal charges for -- contacts with the media?
Among other things that Trump has trashed in three short years -- is any fig leaf of impartial or independent administration of the law or law enforcement. This has to be a crushing blow to morale within these organizations. -(except that a good portion of them were Rs to start out with, and we've all seen how incredibly "flexible" Republicans have turned out to be in adapting to a new ethos.)

(17,857 posts)the new President took office. Maybe Wray will be a stand up guy. There must be a civil war going on right now inside the FBI.
NonPC
(270 posts)No Civil war, rather, I believe most of the staff below the political appointee level are trying their absolute best to insulate the rest of the agency -- and maintain normal operational standards. Career DOJ employees highly dislike leakers in their mist, as many times their lives depend on secrecy. FYI, a high percentage of FBI agents also have law degrees.

(187 posts)I want their names and the names of the FBI agents that celebrated trump's selection by the Electoral College that was mentioned in IG Horowitz report.

(7,502 posts)but I guess the End-Justifies-the-Means Party figured it would all be forgotten after the assumption of their new emperor. They'll get theirs. They tried to purge the bureaucracy of non-loyalists after they came to town. We use transparency and prosecutorial authority...the democratic process.
I'm kind of Old Testament some ways and ones that hold the most revulsion for are the ratf*ckers like Stone and Giuliani and Kobach, et al. and I want to see pay-back.

(6,448 posts)The guy's a combination of Forrest Gump and Zelig. And we didn't elect him nor is he a cabinet member. He gets his whirled tour paid for like he's one of Trump's adult leeches.
His final mission will be to a country where extradition is near impossible. He'll get the Assange treatment.
