Have to see the real transcript!

(82,849 posts)By its own terms, right on the first page, the readout says it's not a transcript. The members don't have to make a big honkin' deal about it, but for the sake of accuracy (if nothing else), they need to use the right term. The inaccuracy only serves the partisans of confusion.

(21,712 posts)Democrats should be hammering for the release of a true transcript. We know they have it and it is locked in a secret secure server.

(639 posts)Trump's White House transcript of the July 25th phone call is the White Houses' interpretation of what was said. Now,some of it is word for word, but there are far too many parts that were; omitted ( intentionally left out), summarized ( edited down to fewer and sometimes misleading words and of course; spin ( wording designed to promote a propaganda).
If the GOP's had any integrity they would be demanding the phone recording ( which is needed to make a transcript) to prove any defense of Trump, as well as likely end the impeachment's main investigation point. Why they chose this route is something every voter should be concerned with. Electing persons who refuse to follow the law or respect it's importance, especially in a Congressional Impeachment investigation, is a critical reason to vote that type of partisanship from elected office.
I for one, will never vote for anyone who follows such an abusive pattern of behavior.

(13,565 posts)I keep yammering about the Dem need for strategic, urgent, honest message framing. One would think that would be a priority.
I guess not. We keep losing that battle over and over again.

(13,565 posts)We know that words existed but were struck, indicated by sets of ellipses. We know from testimony that some words were inserted into the summary.
And so we Dems should be objecting constantly to any assumption of this as a true and complete record of the call.
