I LOVE that Jon Meacham is not engaging in bothsiderism - he's calling out the Republicans

And making clear that it is they who are making this process contentious and partisan.

Love him.

2. That was great, wasn't it?

And he didn't say it just once. He repeated it a few times.

4. I don't think he needed to do that - he did what he needed to do.

5. He teaches at Vanderbilt in Nashville

I'm sure the mood in that area in anti-trump. I remember in 2008 seeing a sea of Obama-Biden signs around that area. I think he went to The University of the South associated with the Episcopal Church also a fairly liberal academic area.

11. Since there are right/ wrong 'sides' to history, he clearly knows which party is on the wrong side.

7. I am liking Meacham the more I see him

I used to be unsure what to think about him, especially since Joe Scar. likes him so much. I think Meacham likes to play it straight, criticizing both GOP and Dems when warranted, but since the GOP is so messed up in comparison, he correctly hammers them.

9. I mostly see him on Bill Maher, which isn't much.

I enjoy his deep knowledge of history, his calming voice, and the touch of humor he blends in whenever possible. He must be a great professor.

10. He seems like a good guy, but absolutely found ways to moderate his criticisms of Bush II

and was a good bit more tepid about 45 at first, but increasingly seems to have reached a point where he knows this is so absurdly past any point of reason that he can't do the level the playing field thing.

See how long it lasts.

8. Seriously, when you've lost USA Today...

... then you've lost any claim on being reasonable.
