A majority of Americans say the economy is only benefiting the wealthy, despite record-low unemployment and rising wages.
A poll by Pew Research Center found that 69% of Americans say the economy is helping the wealthy while hurting the poor, those without college degrees and the middle class.
Responses also differed widely by income groups. Nearly three quarters of upper-income households say the current economic conditions are "excellent/good," while a majority of lower-income earners say the economy is "only fair/poor."
"To the extent that current economic conditions are helping particular groups, the public sees the benefits flowing mainly to the most well-off," according to Pew.

(12,712 posts)It is amazing how well this is all being handled with buzz words that are supposed to be process words like, "booming economy". The problem with that is YOU fill in the blanks when you hear it. Of course, most people may not have realized how decoupled they already are from Wall Street, so that ruse, and others, help you fill in the process words used.
Once you get a hang for process words, like: you are sitting there, reading this and, you might be curious, or wondering what I am getting at here or if it is time to move on from this comment. Those words conveyed very little in the way of meaning, but sound like they might.
To me, that headline is like: "More Americans realize that smashing your thumb with a hammer really hurts bad." By that I mean what is going on is very obvious. No secrets, just look carefully. That tells me that the media in general, news, advertising, etc., is still working well to maintain a distraction for the conditioned, consumer mind that has been shaped like clay since the days of Edward Bernays. It is a bit trance-like and often supports some general biases that seek confirmation in information.
