I don't know how the Democrats in Congress can take this shit.

I would have already been thrown out of the room many times over. The Democrats must be made of steel not to completely lose it at some point and tell these frauds to go fuck themselves.

Listening to this twisted bullshit hour after hour is torture. We, watching it from afar, can turn it off and go do something else. These poor congresspeople are stuck in the room forced to listen to Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and Louis Gohmert bloviate their endless lies.

Having this on live television all day has been a great public service. It has confirmed that republicans are unpatriotic, have no respect or loyalty for The Constitution, and have forsaken their oath of office to join the cult of Trump.

what purpose it's supposed to serve. I am blown away by the Dem's ability to remain unruffled, and calm and be the adults in the room. I'd have flown across a desk and torn out a larynx by now. We at home can at least employ the mute button, but those Dems have to sit there and listen to the insanity and the lying and the hatefulness for hours and hours and hours on end, and they have been aMAZing with their ability to remain cool as a cucumber. I don't know how they're managing it. Good on them, Schiff, Nadler and every last person on those committees who are sitting through this bullshit for the good of the nation. True patriots.

Someday this will all be a distant memory, but we must NEVER forget who stood for our Constitution, and the checks and balances that make our government a functioning democracy.

We must NEVER FORGET which party turned a blind eye, knowingly and willingly, to allow this degenerate pile of orange puss to disgrace the office with daily insults, adolescent tantrums, and high crimes and misdemeanors. Shame on them today...and shame on them until EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM LEAVES CONGRESS!

I was thinking about this during the course of the proceedings. This is a case where any reasonable person watching the proceedings is going to come in on the side of the facts. All you have to do is stay out of the way. I’m betting there was a sweat lodge moment just before this all began, where it was impressed upon everyone there.

“Look, we are asking you to sit still and look dignified while the idiots on the other side of the aisle are going to throw anything and everything they can at you to see if they can make anything stick. If they make anything stick, it’s a win for them. Don’t lose sight of the big picture, we actually have a very good chance at accomplishing something important, very, very, important here, and if you can retain your dignity, not stoop to their level (remember the adage about not wrestling with pigs) and continue to fire back decently with a sole focus on the issues at hand, then at the end of the day, when the dust has all settled, we will have won.”

I imagine that’s pretty much what they were told. Be the adults in the room, and let the children shit all over themselves. We’ll deal with their shitty diapers later, when they run out of steam.

righteous, justified ranting at the outrageous behavior of the Dems. The “news” and repubs and the WH have set the table with “how to see through the conniving of the Dems”...

How I wish “This is a case where any reasonable person watching the proceedings is going to come in on the side of the facts.” No, I’m afraid faux news viewers’ minds are all solidly framed against us...

If we cannot put constraints on the lying perniciousness on the other side, or start putting some real money into highly potent countervailing public messaging, the “facts” will remain malleable in the eyes of far too many voters.

Nor do I think countering fox’s mendacity will change any minds of any fox viewers, no matter how much money you throw at it. They’ve been far too effectively groomed, and are pretty inoculated against any truth you might try to hit them with.

This does get a little tribal. The sputtering indignation and elementary school theatrics of hand lettered posters of outrage behind their chair. WE look at that and think “my god, grow the fuck up would you?” Their constituents consider that to be a suitable response to the way they have been “maligned, mistreated, ignored, etc.”.

I was very happy that for the most part, our side stuck to the issues, kept bringing the focus back on the reasons for being here, and avoided getting dragged down into the feces with the shirt rollers on the other side.

History, hopefully, will not look kindly on these goons in 20-30 years.

That's what I kept saying every time the republicans came up with something more ignorant than the rant before them. Now, DJT is a two fisted corruption fighter who tried to get help rooting it out for our country and then hid the transcript so it would never see the light of day because Trump is a modest man who doesn't like to toot his own horn. And he can't be impeached because black people are working.

You gotta be shittin' me. Put it on the new Trump quarter.
