1. A lot of my Brit friends....
... have said that Corbyn really doomed Labour. Not even most Labour voters like Corbyn. Hopefully this embarrassing shellacking with force Labour to reckon with toxic elements in the party. Until then, the UK is headed for more shitty Tory policies, and maybe the loss of Scotland and maybe even Northern Ireland.

2. Russian Propaganda
The role the Russians play now in both of our elections is massive.

3. Their mistake was not realizing it was all about Brexit
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/12/boris-johnson-tory-conservatives-landslide-u-k-election-brexit-corbyn-hould-democrats-be-worried.html
Brexit was not an "added effect" it was what the election was all about. Yes, Corbyn was terrible but there is no correlation between him and Warren. |

7. No shit. The worst showing since 1935
When Corbyn was elected Labour leader four years ago, he was often compared to Michael Foot, who led the party to a crushing defeat in 1983 against Margaret Thatcher. Back then, Foot’s leftwing manifesto was described as “the longest suicide note in history.” Corbyn’s manifesto was nearly three times as long, and even less successful: he has led Labour to its worst showing since 1935. “In the past hundred years no opposition has lost seats after 9 years in opposition. None,” observed former Labour adviser Torsten Bell. |

8. People
underestimate the benefit of personality in a GE. Bill Clinton and Obama are perfect examples. We assume people vote on policy issues. Most don't.

9. B Clinton won on the issue of the day
It was the economy and it was the battlecry of the campaign. They hammered Bush on it.
Bush did not address the faltering economy and he lost. |
