I Keep Hearing Dem House And Senate Members Say When Interviewed "No One Is Above The Law"......

as it applies to a president (Trump).

Unfortunately - I believe that until there is a legal rendering that definitively states that 'No one is above the law' that a president (Trump) will keep pushing the envelope committing all sorts of crimes and will continue to get away with them.

I'm beginning to think that it is a tactical error on the part of the Dems for not taking a legal route to once and for all get a legal rendering on this topic.

think this is a valid use. There is no law that gives the office of POTUS a pass. It was an idea presented in a DOJ memorandum. At least that's my understanding.

And doesn't Trump say that as president he can do anything?

That's why I'm suggesting that until there is a legal rendering on this - that no amount of repetition by the Dems is going to change things.

I think I'm interpreting what you are saying - that if we repeat it often enough - that there is no law that gives the office of POTUS a pass - that it was just an idea presented in a DOJ memorandum - that finally that will sink in.

I guess I'm not as optimistic as you.

Where you might be right is - if the shoe were on the other foot and there was a Dem president that the Repugs were challenging - they would use repetition to their advantage and it might stick. They seem to be more successful in pulling stuff off like that.

commit his crimes, but neither one had/has a LEGAL basis for what they have done. If Mueller had been allowed to continue his investigation he might have gone after a legal interpretation and we should still be doing that. It's one thing that needs to be settled to take away part of the reTHUG defense of tRUMP.

Any reasonable, thinking person knows that a President is NOT above the law. That's why we don't call the leader of the Executive branch "King".
