Rep Jamie Raskin had the best comeback this morning

when asked by Katy Tur if he was not worried that Rs would now go after any D president in the future and impeach them. His answer:

“You mean like they did with Bill Clinton when they impeached him over a private issue that had nothing to do with national security or policy? Like that?” (paraphrased).

In other words, they’ve already done that 25 years ago.

Great answer.

Carter was too soon and the GOP too weak at the time. Clinton was the next Dem and thus the target.
Of a Dem wins in 2020 (of course they will) and Repugs have any power anywhere the Dem will be the target.

lying to Hillary through his Congressional testimony.

If he had been single, he would have (excuse me) "come clean". That's more than I can say for any GOP scum--like serial adulterer Newt (gave divorce papers to his cancer-stricken first wife while she was in the hospital) or any number of them who possibly need a wide stance at the airport men's room.

These mega-hypocrites also use their media mouthpieces like Rush (4 marriages and counting) and Bill O'Reilly (where do I start?).

None of these vermin have any shred of decency or morality. And then there's Donald J-agoff Trump. So many comparisons to Nixon (cheating to win) and Hitler (so full of hate for entire groups of people), but I have a new one: Al Capone.

Big Al went to prison merely for tax evasion and died from Dementia brought on by syphilis. Could this be his future?

That's a lot of blame to lay on one person for lying about a question that never should have been asked in the first place.

In this universe, the rethugs spent the 1990s sniffing around for crime after crime to blame the Clintons for (my favorite "scandal" was when they were accused of murdering 2 teenagers with a freight train). It took them 6 years to get WJC for not telling the truth about a BJ.

And now, because of that, you think that there would have been no Bush II, not war in Afghanistan, no war in Iraq, no 9/11 - and it's all the Democrats' fault. Whew!

9. Ken Starr
Fri Dec 13, 2019, 06:56 PM
Dec 2019

A rodent in judicial robes who spent $64 million to investigate Whitewater and settled for cornering the president into perjury.

Ken Starr who was fired outright by Baylor University for his overt complicity in covering up sexual assaults and rapes on and off campus by university football players, that Ken Starr.

Ken Starr who solicited tapes and testimony from Linda Tripp who had lured Monica Lewinsky into her confidence and illegally taped telephone conversations with her. That Ken Starr.

The same Ken Starr whose "star" clerk was, of course, the boofing and sexual coercion champion of George Washington Prep, the penis exposer to unwilling coeds at Yale University, the whiney abomination who secured a Trump promoted seat on the Supreme Court, the twit hypocrite who practically begged Ken Star to go over the top against Clinton for his so-called "immorality." That Ken Starr.

If Obama had spit on the sidewalk, for chrissakes, the Repubs would have gone after him. If the next Democratic president is not squeaky clean in her thoughts and deeds, the whore-mongering Repubs will all pull their pants up and leave their young staffer on his/her knees just long enough to launch an impeachment investigation against her. Hell, even if she is pure as the driven snow, the GOP creeps will make shit up and the media will accept and publicize every turd. Of course the next Democrative president will be impeached!

Wow, this is a great post. I agree 100%. I lived the Bill Clinton impeachment and it was a bunch of lies by Linda Tripp and she suckered in Monica. Both of them, I'm sure got a big pay off for helping the Republicans go after Bill. We lived the Bill Clinton Presidency and until the Linda Tripp and Republicans we had a very great life with a very great President. Thanks for posting this. Ken Starr was a PIG!!

And speaking of Republican moralists, there's William Bennett.

President Carter had an adequate Secretary of Education in Terrel Bell. When Ray-gun slithered into the WH, he didn't know anyone in the GOP who was qualified to lead the Dept (just like today) so he asked Bell to stay on. After several cabinet meetings where the other secretaries filled the room with racist and sexist jokes, Bell got sickened and resigned.

Enter Bill Bennett who wrote a best-selling book on morality. As the book sales increased, Bennett suddenly confessed he had a severe gambling problem.

I've got more, but it would also end up in hardcover.

He still appears, doesn't he, on the talking head shows? Bennett talking about morality is like Epstein advocating teen age virginity.

I didn't know that Bell quit at least in part because of the racist and sexist banter at cabinet meetings. It certainly doesn't surprise me to hear about it.

And I can't forget that St. Ronnie, himself, is known to have told Nancy, when it was revealed that his old Hollywood friend Rock Hudson had contracted AIDS, that "well, y'know he brought it on himself"; meaning that there are consequences for "perverted" activity! No sadness, no attempt to change course about Federal government funding for AID's research. Just, more or less, let him die -- an old friend!

Reagan was a hateful, despicable, nasty, ugly, sickening POS! (As were most of his cabinet appointments and political supporters.)

Finally, after all these years, Rep. Jamie Raskin has said what I have always thought and been angry about. Bill Clinton, was a great President. I remember, we had the best of times when he was President. And since day one, I have always thought the thing with Monica was a set-up by the R's. There is a war in this country and it is between the Reps and Dems. Democrats want to help all of us have better lives and Republicans only want to help the rich and could care less about the rest of us. Thank You greatly, Jamie Raskin!! I want to say one more thing, the media only wants to help the republicans and the rich and powerful. They, too, could care less about the poorest in our country or the world and absolutely unwilling to help the rest of us.
