The rush among Trump allies to bash Thunberg marked a striking contrast to their professed outrage last week when Pamela Karlan, a Stanford University law professor, had invoked Barron Trump’s name during her testimony before the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment hearing. In making a point that Trump is not a dictator, Karlan quipped that “while the president can name his son Barron, he can’t make him a baron.”

“Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it,” the first lady wrote in a tweet.

Yet on Thursday, Melania Trump and others who had scolded Karlan, including White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham and several GOP lawmakers, were silent about the president’s attack on Thunberg. White House officials, including Grisham, did not respond to a request for comment, and messages to the House offices of Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and Mike Johnson (R-La.), who denounced Karlan’s remarks, went unanswered. A Trump campaign spokeswoman also did not respond to an email.

a White House program for children and named it "Be Best"? The GOP would have tried to run her and her husband out of Washington accused her of imposing her ignorance on their children, disguised as a Chidren's Program. It was bad enough the way they attacked Michelle for anything and everything including planting a garden behind the White House to focus on healthy eating; and promoting exercise by encouraging kids to get up and move each day.

Yet we have to listen to this intellectually dishonest woman and and her ignorant husband attack other peoples' children when they feel justified. I'm curious how much taxpayer money Melania has spent on promoting a program which tries to make children sound stupid if they spoke like that.

It makes me laugh out loud to see the photos of her "work" available on the internet and the complete acceptance from the Jesus loves me more than you crowd who think she is the classiest thing ever to be married to a POTUS. They are such hypocrites. She is nothing but a trashy gold digger. But, then, look at the orange sack of $hit she married.

I could give a fu*k what she thinks about anything.

But, remember, that the Orange Asshole has to manufacture something to distract us from the fact that he will be impeached next week. He doesn't care how cruel he is, or about the fact that this beautiful little girl is standing up to world leaders.

The way I feel about climate change is this: Our planet is being abused, intentionally or not, and we have to have rules that reflect our love of our ONLY planet. I think that we can't see enough of our planetary cycle to see if perhaps this is a cyclic change that our planet goes through, like the four seasons we experience. It could simply be a season of our planet. However, that is very foreboding in itself.

If we want to survive, we have to take action to slow the season down by not contributing to the factors that increase it, and by concentrating on technology that might be needed when the shit hits the fan. This is an urgent matter. Why are our children leading us in survival matters such as gun control and climate change? We look like fools.

In the past I have been supportive of Melania. Yes, that is true. I do not think she ever wanted to be FLOTUS. But, there it is. So, she set out to do what all FLs do: a project. She was mocked right away for her efforts, something that she probably didn't plan for at all. That alone would have finished me off. It seemed as if she didn't want to be near the Orange Turd. Remember, she slapped his hand away a couple of times, and seemed to live elsewhere.

But, she DOES have the kid to consider. We don't know what is happening behind the scenes. Trump has the power to take her kid away, it's as simple as that. I don't blame her for jumping anyone who wants to involve her kid in this national nightmare. You and I would do the very same thing, protecting our child. So, I don't blame her for that, although I think the situation didn't sound all that serious about the kid being mentioned, except that making fun of his name is not something we want to do. We've all been pretty good about leaving the kid out of the criticism, even though we have been treated to news about immigrant children dying in our cages. So, we have that in the balance.

I am disappointed in Melania because she has not left the Asshole in Chief. She has had long enough to engineer an escape for her entire family. I cannot believe that she loves that jerkoid. If she does, whether it's him or his alleged money, then she is no different than many women in history. That's the way people are, and a lot of us miss the mark by long shots. This particular FL has never been supported by the People. She has no degree of affection from anyone in the country to live up to, which is what people need to live.

So, maybe she doesn't like any of us anyway. Who cares, anyway, remember? She should switch to climate change as a project and defy the AIC right to his face. But, maybe she can't...anyway, it is despicable that fucking asshole Donald Trump would treat a child defending the planet in the manner that he has. He is a total write off as a person. an adult, and as a President. We can't get rid of him soon enough.

Very proud of Greta. Go Greta! Go women! Go children!

Fuck you, Donald, and all the GOP...

what it would be like to be married to Trump. And glad that I will never know. I would say that I feel sorry for her but the *least* she could do is not say anything at all. I don't know what exactly she had to gain by going on the offensive against Democrats over the whole "Bar(r)on" non-troversy or why she feels she has to publicly excuse her husband's behavior towards Thunberg. I'd suggest that she quietly fold up her anti-cyberbullying initiative and find a new crusade, although now that I'm thinking of it, I'm not really sure what she would be out there crusading against that wouldn't somehow put her at odds with hubby.

It would be nice if she could spare an ounce of outrage for Thurnberg as she could for her son- who was never actually maligned or attacked by anybody.

The overall takeaway here is that Melania Trump's anti-cyber bullying "initiative" is hollow and hypocritical and she is totally complicit in her husband's gross and misogynistic behavior.

I fully agree that Baron is off limits (though what happened in that hearing had NOTHING to do with the child and was clearly faux outrage). He did not decide for his dad to be President and we just need to leave him alone.

Greta did decide to be an activist, so she can be talked about.

BUT, Trumps response to her was unhinged and bullying. That is something that Melania needs to address if she even wants to pretend that BeBest is anything other than pure bullshit.
