It's not a "rush to judgment" the Republican Senate is trying to get away with.

I kept hearing this on CNN today.

The Republicans aren't rushing to judgment. They are attempting to sweep Trump's high crimes under the rug as fast and as quietly as they possibly can. All this Republican showbiz about how it's supposedly not worth wasting peoples' time with a trial and witnesses isn't about saving peoples' time. It's about shoving Trump quickly past peoples' noses before they can smell the rat. The Republicans want this gone. 50% of people supporting Trump being removed from office in a Fox News poll is not a number Republicans like staring at.

Trump, despite his noise, doesn't want witnesses of any kind in the trial, even Joe and Hunter Biden. He's just saying he does. Trump also doesn't want people to read the "transcript" (rough summary memo). He's just saying he does. What Trump wants is to look like he wants a fight. McConnell's job is to pretend to hold Trump back. In reality, if McConnell didn't hold Trump back, Trump would be quickly treated to a view of the boxing ring ceiling.

don't know what context you heard it in, but .. I don't think it really fits any part of this process. It would seem like a poor choice of wording.

The actors are terrible and i doubt it would last a week off off off off Broadway. It is all so fake and obvious that it must be a play directed by Susan Collins, the queen of the Senate theater. They might be pulling the wool over thier ignorant deplorables' eyes but not mine.
