Trump-Themed Pop-Up Store Opens In Wilmington..The four stores across Massachusetts sell Trump and Second Amendment memorabilia, as well as some Boston sports gear. Dec. 10, 2019. The Patch.
WILMINGTON, MA Traditionally, if you want a shirt with a politician's name on it, you buy it from the campaign or from stands at places such as the National Mall. Certainly, you wouldn't find an entire brick-and-mortar retail store devoted to that merchandise in a Boston suburb. Or in four different Boston suburbs, as the case may be.
But that's exactly what the "New England for Trump" chain of stores provides. It opened its 4th location, 424 Main St. in Wilmington, this weekend...https://patch.com/massachusetts/wilmington/trump-themed-pop-store-opens-wilmington
*..And hes not the only one. Trump stores that are unaffiliated with the campaign are cropping up across the nation, in states as diverse as Louisiana and South Dakota, intriguing political analysts who have never seen a president become a product before.
Its the first time Ive ever heard of this happening, said Bruce Newman, a political marketing specialist and professor at Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University in Chicago. Am I surprised? The answer is no. We live in a beautiful capitalist society that encourages people to become entrepreneurs and make money. If you can do that and at the same time, wax your political leanings and support the politician that you think deserves to lead the country, thats a big bonus....

(41,113 posts)RAPID CITY, S.D. A pop-up shop touting pro-Trump merchandise has opened in Baken Park in Rapid City for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and perhaps beyond. The Trump Shop sits at the corner of Mountain View Road and Canyon Lake Drive and sells products ranging from buttons to shirts, and of course, those famous red hats.
The store opened this week and the store manager says that within the past few days it has already had thousands of visitors. People from all over the country have gone in and out of the store to pick up their favorite Trump or GOP related item. So a lot of people out here, they may be Trump supporters, but I think its really awesome when people wear Trump shirts, hats, everything else we have 200 plus items here and we get more and more each day, said the Trump Shops General Manager Tristen Farnsworth.
The store also has a smaller set up on East North Street, and another location in Gillette. Theyll also set one up in Sturgis for the rally. Along with being a local business, the shop donates to the Trump campaign on a regular basis. Although there are those who consider President Trump controversial, the shop hopes that supporters will not be discouraged...

(10,885 posts)I've run into large, nearly militant groups in MA and RI, which surprised and dismayed me with their fervor. Some of these "sleepy NE towns" are harbingers of Trump support and activity. Reading the public FB accounts of some local towns can be both enlightening and frightening with regard to the level of followers Chump has in these areas.
We can't afford to become complacent by living in a Blue State. Trumpers are out there, and they're gearing up for 2020.

(10,885 posts)as one of these stores opened just blocks from my home. Just driving by it is unnerving. Fortunately, I never see any cars parked in front, but I'm expecting that to change once the election cycle really begins to heat up.

Id like to see Democrats just shrug and say Theyre practicing freedom of expression. Democrats have fought for it always.
