originated in Old English. But to me it's an ugly linguistic appendage unless we were to adopt the whole paradigm

methinks
theethinks
himthinks / herthinks
usthinks
yethinks
themthinks

There are other verbs like this too -- meseems, mehopes... just the dative pronoun clipped onto the front of the verb like the French do

When my parents were still living, that was always a popular word in our house.

I never saw anyone “cloaked in pretension,” although I wish my mom was alive so I could use that phrase on her lol.

Its a lot more offensive than methinks.

Also, methinks, could be the way people think when they are stoned on meth.

To riddle could mean to tell a riddle.

Or it could mean to explain a riddle.

We learn words all the time. Otherwise we'd all be speaking at a 3rd grade level.

It's "to group" that's the innovation.

Sharing an observation on our messaging.

We could speak in Hawaiian but since most here don’t understand it, it would serve to divide us rather than help us understand each other.
