To stay home with the kids and raise them, still have a decent car, house they own, plenty of groceries and can afford a simple vacation every year then they are paid right.

That is how I was raised, we were working middle class, nothing fancy but I always had clothes, a bike, we ate pizza out and my mom stayed home to raise us.

2. Everyone gets same SSI benefits, yet NJ is #1 donor state, having adjusted poverty level near $28K.

Those living in a lower-cost state that does not contribute to others states, receive higher buying power than those who live in the major donor states of NJ, CA & NY. Incomes are also higher in those states, meaning that they generally contribute more into the system and receive less bang for their buck. This does not even address that recipients are capped to what they can receive from additional income sources, and have that extra money taken from their monthly benefits.

SSDI has caps on income too, which places single person recipients behind the eight ball in higher cost states.
