I think that the word "corruption," for people like Trump, Giuliani, and McConnell, does not mean what it means for most of us. They believe strongly in a rigid, punitive, authoritarian social/economic system in which "alpha males" run the show, with some window dressing by their female favorites. Whatever the biggest bullies say is what should happen, and the "corrupt" people are those who try to impose any limits on whatever the bullies want to do or force others to do.
