Just because you can buy a 50 in $200 TV it holds it down even though your medicine, healthcare, food, shelter, and transportation all increase. Those inelastic things you need to survive continue to rise in price while those things you don't are under considerable pricing pressure (which says something about the weakness of our economy).

You know chained CPI.

So what if beef is up, you can substitute to pork, chicken, and eventually rat I guess.
