The only problem was that these people weren't regulars at that bar and are unrepresentative of the area in which they staged that "focus group." Marcy Wheeler gets real people to speak, and the differences are...quite different.

On Sunday's Meet The Press, Chuck Todd talked about a visit his team made to Kent County Michigan, to talk to "real voters" and their views on impeachment and Election 2020. In the segment, Dante Chinni from MTP sat down with a group of 6 voters at Brewery Vivant. Todd stated that most were Republicans and that most of them had voted for Trump in 2016. Here is some of what the focus group had to say, or you can start at 31:-00 and watch it here:

Then he got into the effect impeachment has on their view of 2020 and literally every single one of them said "well, was it about 2016 or is is about 2020. And they parroted the FOX talking point of it being an investigation into corruption or whether it was wrong but not illegal and impeachable.
This is Marcy Wheeler's neighborhood brewpub. She and some other Michiganders went to the same exact pub and met with voters who ACTUALLY drink at that bar. To say their views were shockingly different would be an understatement. But even more than differing views, it shows that Meet The Press continues to be a cynical farce of a news show pandering to its viewers with a chronic case of "bothsiderism" that helped contribute to Donald Trump's election win in 2016.
Marcy wrote up an excellent post on the experience. Here are some of her observations:

Here's Jessica, who goes back and forth on impeachment, but worries about Mike Pence. She thinks Trump should be impeached for putting kids in cages.

Couple this with what CBS did last week.

CBS News conducted interviews outside a December 10, 2019, Trump rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania, presenting the interview subjects as random Trump supporters in a video posted to social media.
Writer and editor at The Informant, Nick Martin, pointed out that one of the random Trump supporters interviewed was Infowars host Will Johnson. In the interview Johnson said removal of Donald Trump through the process of impeachment would result in a civil war.

As conservative anti-Republican David Frum warned, "The battle for power is enormous."
Thanks for posting such a clear illustration of corrupt RW media, Deminks.
Anyone who wants a clear enough illustration of PBS's corruption, just watch the Evening News with a critical eye, preferably on a story you know something about to pick up on things like important facts omitted. Clips and statements from which party introduce and end the coverage? Dishonest spins. How often highly biased/lying Republican quotes are presented as if they were worthy -- and without comment.

The only Reason these awful people are in our white house is to hand over the already rich more of our national wealth when the next crash happens. Bailouts for all except the middle class and poor and mildly rich....Oh ok bailouts just for the filthy rich, just like the last crash.

On a slight side note, Chucky Toad is starting a podcast to obviously spread more BS.
If you haven't listened to AL Franken's once a week podcast --- try it. Real questions and dialog with a little Al's humor.

My niece was at a high school journalism conference where he was the keynote speaker and she said he was very pompous and shallow during his talk.
Tim Russert must be spinning in his grave over what has happened to his show.
