Some of us have spent nearly as much time in Springfield as we have in our own actual hometowns. So much has changed in the 30 years since The Simpsons debuted in 1989, but some things never grow old. Which led to an even more important conversation: Of the 670-plus episodes that have aired since its beginning, which would you show to the few who remain unconverted to the shows genius? What, essentially, are the greatest Simpsons episodes of them all?
So after hours of arguing, several bouts of fisticuffs, many games of roshambo and much consulting of online forums, Rolling Stone has come up with the answer the 150 best Simpsons episodes of all time. You can use this as a guide to binging, or simply something to end arguments such as whether Bart the Daredevil is better than Bart the Lover (yes, it is), which Treehouse of Horror is the best (were going with IV) and which one truly stands head and shoulders above the rest (read on). And why you should never miss the Ramones-cameo episode (Rosebud, for those of you playing at home). Regardless of where you land on The Simpsons spectrum, grab your Duff beer or Krusty Kola and dig in.

I think after all the episodes this might rank as one of my all time favorite scenes, if not favorite:
This might be a close second:

(9,895 posts)1. Me fail English? That's unpossible!
I have loved this show for the entirety of its run, even when it is in a down cycle its still one of the best comedy shows of all-time and the longevity is astounding. I will be very sad the day it comes to a final end...but for now, I relish the chance to still enjoy something that I started watching back in High School, 30 year on down the road!
Also loved this one (That name again is Mr. Plow...):

And people were like "OMG!!! You watch the Simpsons!! That show is not for kids, are you out of your minds???"
Then 8 years later, South Park comes along and says "Hold my beer"...

I also love Homer when he steals the auto dialer:

(15,084 posts)6. I may be the only person on the planet
who has never watched The Simpsons. Perhaps I should try it sometime. Especially since I do crossword puzzles every day and there's always a question about Homer's neighbor or the bartender.

BTW, the "I am so smart" song had a blooper in it, and it was kept in and partly reanimated to fit the voice over blooper.
My husband and I watch "The Simpsons" all the time. We are constantly quoting it; some quotes fit life perfectly...
"Marge, I am not going to lie to you." **says nothing and walks away***
"And now, Bob Dole will read from the Necronomicon."
"Fox News: Not racist, but #1 with racists."
"People! People! Please! We are all frightened and horny!"
"Don't forget we invented computers, leg warmers, bendy straws, peel-and-eat shrimp, the glory hole, and the pudding cup.
