If that is not an official constitutional crisis I don't know what is.
If the Senate does not convict, Trump will know he can do whatever he wants when it comes to cheating on the election. There is no way to predict how emboldened Trump will become, he is after all, nuts.
I do not see what the Republicans see. How can they believe freeing a lunatic from the constitution, rule of law, is going to help anyone. How is that going to help the country? How is that going to help them? Things could easily spin out of control.
What we are witnessing is madness. There is no other way to describe it.
The American people better wake up soon, we are running out of time. The polls are not showing enough support for removal. The Senate trial will start in a few weeks. Hopefully their will be witnesses, hopefully something will happen to wake the American people up so they can demand Trump be removed.
Tick, Tick, Tick.

(4,379 posts)Here is an example that proves we are witnessing complete madness. If the Republicans do not convict Trump they will be legalizing election fraud. That is a death sentence for democracy. Now that's madness.

(4,379 posts)I just a saw Washington post poll that was good news. A large majority of Americans want witnesses to appear at the trial. That includes the majority of Republican voters. We have to have a real, fair trial. It's the only way we can save our democracy.

They like it that way.
They just don't admit it.
And they won't disappear just because the rest of us are onto them.
