impeachment hearings now being televised should frighten and disgust every American and deeply embarrass every Republican.

The GOP finally settled on a strategy to defend Trump from impeachment: they have decided to simply lie----repeatedly, consistently, brazenly and arrogantly---while either smiling or snarling for the cameras as America watches and listens.

Despite direct testimony from numerous witnesses as to Trump's impeachable conduct, they lie and tell America there is "zero" direct evidence.

Despite Trump being invited to take part in the hearings---WITH his counsel---, they lie and tell America that he was denied the right to an attorney and the right to present a defense.

Despite having never proposed the calling of fact witnesses to defend Trump, they lie to America and say they were prevented from calling such witnesses.

It would be easier to list their few factual assertions than to attempt to catalog their lies.

And, folks------damned few people are outraged; damned few people are truly offended and angry. And, should someone comment on a talk show that "the Republicans lied throughout the hearings", they will be told that they were just following Trump's example---as though that somehow EXCUSES the lies!

This blatant lying in a proceeding authorized by the Constitution and VITAL to the survival of democracy in America is not simply deplorable; it may well be the self-inflicted wound that ends the 250 year old experiment in democracy we call America.

In any profession you care to name, this volume of lies would cost the liars their jobs. These Republicans deserve the same fate.

Of course they are lying. They HAVE to repeat the nonsense the cult has heard on talk radio on Fox. Some of these boxes might actually believe it too.

the one whose members instantly struck up the choir the minute " the i word" was uttered, and have blatantly lied ever since?
or the party that struggled publicly, debated openly, and dragged a reluctant speaker forward?

Any time from this day forward, when a rePutican suggests upholding the Constitution, we law abiding Americans can immediately and repeatedly beat them over the head with their own actions. This is the day when rePuticans turned their backs on the Constitution and voted in support of a man over that of our republic.

And all their ideology laughed at
Their Christian sadists humiliated.
As a party the republicans need to be amputated,so something better than them can grow in its place, something honest not hierarchical or propped up with greed a non psychopath party, with a conscience and empathy.
This time the south will not rise it will crumble to dust and be dead forever.

We know Faux will not do it, it is left to the printed press, internet and TV news to bring the truth to light.

All I know is that if Democrats had compared Obama to Jesus evangelicals would have gone nuts, many heart attacks.
