And now, a Deus Ex Machina would be greatly appreciated

Something to soften the hearts of roughly 1/3 of the Republican Senate caucus.

Maybe something along the lines of Tolkien perhaps? Helm’s Deep?

Or maybe just Dickens and a bunch of ghosts can visit all the Senate Republicans on Christmas Eve.
