think she has lymphoma after all...it has been hell on earth this last month waiting for the final wo:rd...I tried not to think about it every minute of the day but...almost impossible. I thank God, she is going to be fine. The doctor called late and when I heard his voice, I thought the worst and started to sob...but it was the best news possible.

(10,819 posts)How true. In addition, the fear about a medical emergency, nasty disease or injury is something all parents can identify with. Your children are always your children. Been there with my own. When there's a positive turn in one of these awful situations, the relief is overwhelming.
Wonderful news for your baby and you.
Take care.

It is only natural that you are feeling a bit weepy tonight, having been through so much distress and now finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. A little self care may be in order...it sounds as if you have really been through the wringer this year. But now you and your family can embrace joy and a bright future! So happy for your good news.

Merry Christmas and thanks for the good wishes.

(54,770 posts)Doc says it is so small that lumpectomy will take care of it and there is virtually zero chance of needing chemo, and probably no radiation therapy either.
I'm so glad for you and your daughter. You are right, the weeks between learning of the possibilities, thinking the worst, scheduling biopsies, waiting for results, etc., is torture.
Take care and enjoy the relief.

(68,456 posts)I had just finished a remodel...did much of it myself...had the perfect kitchen (for me)...I was sort of resentful to start over in a smaller house with a little kitchen...it is a work in progress...but the people here like the people on DU are so wonderful. I told my neighbor about my daughter and we had meals prepared for us these last two weeks....where does that happen now? My dog Molly got out and got spooked and went running...my neighbor put it on the town website...and people came out and looked for her...on foot and in their cars. She was sighted about a mile from the house and I was able to get her back before she got hurt...something out of It is a wonderful life...we have endured spinal surgery for hubs twice this years, my youngest daughters hospitalization for depression (she is doing better?, unemployment, a longs strike and two auto accidents...one my fault the other not my fault(no one hurt which is what matters)...but we endure. Thank you for your kind wishes.

(4,078 posts)It is a Very Merry Christmas, after all!
When my girl was about seven we found a lump on her spine that scared the hell out of me. I was a wreck until we got the MRI back, and found it was just superficial and would clear up on its own! And it did! (This was about 14 years ago.)
So I know how you feel. Now, breathe, breathe, breathe...

(5,291 posts)as I had been going through it here.
My wife has had a mysterious illness for about two months. Having run out of ideas for what was likely, they were trying less-likely theories, and thought they had found a spot on her pancreas.
Yesterday, she had an MRI. Today they phoned with the results: they are still not sure what it is, but it isn't pancreatic cancer.
