We all know that the Republicans in the senate will not convict Trump, they have made this clear. We also know that Trump is absolutely incapable of learning from his mistakes, so he will invariably double down on the conduct that saw him impeached in the first place.
He is desperate to cling to power, apart from anything else it is the one sure way to keep him out of prison, and one can lay bets that before the articles of impeachment have even been sent to the senate, he and his team are already identifying who else they can shake down to get the dirt on his eventual opponent.
This administration will not be able to help themselves. They are cheaters by nature. Which begs the question, how many times can a President be impeached? Cause in the next 24 they are going to pull some nasty impeachable shit again
and again
and again.

(23,339 posts)There was no limit during the Obama administration; there should be no limit now.
But, it's more practical to just focus on the 2020 election. The senate will not convict Trump, no matter how many times this happens. It'a as predictable as an Obama veto of the Republican repeal of ACA.

I hope Speaker Pelosi files more impeachment charges against him in 2020. Keep reminding voters that he is a criminal and always has been.
