I do a positivity exercise with politicians I disagree with, contemplating them, watching them. Jordan is a nut job, but he reminds me so much of the country boys I grew up with.

I detest his politics, but I get a kick out of his perky optimism. And during the hearings, I started to look forward to him singing his Arias about the hearsay defense or the propriety of requesting that a foreign government hold a press conference to denounce one of the presidents political rivals. He reminds me of a child.

Salt of the earth types, straight shooters. Hard workers, good neighbors.

Jim Jordan presents an image of being one of these down-to-earth good old boys, but in reality he is anything but. We’ve seen by his deeds and his words what a conniving, slimy, duplicitous little creep he really is.

There were so many times when I wondered if a theatrical producer had given them tips on being histrionic, hysterical, and shrieky.

that's what people expect to see on their TVs now, a bunch of fighting and screaming.

And the people who decry the death of civil discourse are generally the very people who violate it the most.

Psychological projection is also endemic in our country.
