There is nothing in the US Constitution that gives Mitch McConnell to refuse to allow the President to appoint a judge of the Supreme Court with the preposterous excuse that the President has "only" eleven months left in his term of office.

No. It has nothing to do with a 'shared low regard for the impeachment charges and his view of the Senate’s role'. It has to do with the oath they made as Senators and whether or not they will break the law and their oath. My guess is they will do both.
