My heart goes out , as union teamster to the union steel workers in Michigan

Their works getting shutdown you can’t replace those jobs. By that I am saying with cash that they earn. And health and welfare medical and pension. Once again the American worker has to take it in the neck. It all went wrong with regan the trickledown economics. And it’s all truly fubar with trump and corporate tax breaks. I grew up in western Pennsylvania my old man and family worked in the mills.

Fortunately my old man retired after 31 years. Me personally I have experienced three union freight companies closing Preston red star and roadway the last with merging with yrc. And as truck driver or jockey yard man you cannot compete with deregulation and scab trucking. Today I work ups and they’re tight but for how long until. Until The company comes to union and says we cannot no longer do pension or employees healthcare. The trump tax gop tax cuts were a joke and robbery and joke and I truly detest these fuckers. I’d like to squeeze them by their lying necks the gop.

How hard is it for the steel works to modernize no they take cash and run. And buy a mill in India to produce the same product. Just a corporate fucking to the workers.

Been pulling my Central States Pension for Sixteen years. After yesterdays US Steel's shut down story, like you, thought of all the BK's I and fellow Teamsters endured. Lived through five in fifty two years. Three Teamster Shops and two non Union Scab operations.

Old Wilbur,I remember the fifties,Ross made a statement about all these fired people being able to hire on at the Auto Plants in the area. What a Stupid statement. Tow very different Skill Sets first of all. Secondly, who pays for all the Skill update for a Steel Plant person being able to do the new high Tech Assembly line work.

And then there is the age old hiring process which tends to discriminate against Union Workers being even offered a Job interview do to a Ancient Policy of,you are Subject to recall or you have Seniority Bump rights at some plant a thousand miles away.

Been there done that and bought the friggin Tee Shirt.
