Aerows
(39,961 posts)That particular species I am quite familiar with here in the south. The are known as the Carolina Anole or simply the Anole. The male typically has to do a lot of romancing to get a female. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolina_anole
These are all over the south, and we are extremely familiar with them. I think Louisiana and Mississippi variants display different characteristics in diet, and aggressiveness, but oh well .
I didn't mean to get off into lecture mode, but I love these guys as one of the natives of our area . Eat bigs. check. Eat Misquitos bigger than the are, well, they should be our state bird.
I've always loved anoles
And I tamed a few of them, too, before I released them. Reptiles are NOT dumb, and neither are birds, which I also kept a few of (a brilliant cockatiel that could speak several words). Our animal friends and allies are not unintelligent if you pick the right ones. I don't advocate attempting to be a buddy with an alligator.

(39,961 posts)All of them are so gorgeous, but I loved the contrast between the green, green grass, and Uncle George's barn.
