...I mean, quite literally, a single one? Even Reagan, even Dubya, did *something* positive. Dubya supported libraries, thanks to his wife, and spoke out against anti-Muslim prejudice after 9/11. That's something. Not much, against his endless clusterfucks, but it's something, and I could probably find something else if I thought about it. But Trump? As far as I can tell, his "administration" has been a solid, unalloyed toxic dump. He has said nothing useful, supported nothing beneficial, appointed no one worthy to either an executive position or a court seat. Not a single exception that I can see. Can anyone think of anything...?

(59,503 posts)He sees that he is pulling us out of the "unfair" Paris Accord - yes, I know each country chose what their commitment was. Then there was pulling us out of the "terrible Iran deal" - egged on by Netanyahu, who in that process made Israel less safe. By making the point that NATO is unfair to the US and making it weaker.
Then there is his brilliant China trade strategy - that has bankrupted some small farmers and for which he attributes the wonderful stock market - ignoring it has been increasing since 2010. The strongest economy ever with a HUGE increase in average income - I think he claims $5000 over his term. (If this is accurate, credit the high leverage points way at the top that got most of those $5000s! Note he obviously is not using the increase of the median.)
Then there are the two Supreme Court Justices, who will be there for decades most likely. At a lower level, he is appointing a huge number of young, very conservative, and often not qualified judges.
Not to mention he will claim stopping or at least slowing the flow of non white immigrants to the US. Then there is removing 100s of EPA and other regulations.
Obviously, WE do not see these as accomplishments - they are against everything we believe in. His base however does.

(38,420 posts)...By this time into Bush Jr.'s first administration, Junior had started a war. That war killed tens of thousands of people, if you really count those Iraq citizens that were killed. The war increased the debt, and left many people on both sides disabled. War is the most awful a thing that one could start.
...Junior Bush is a killer.
...The war was started over a lie!!!!!
....Our current liar in chief, has not started a war, or lied about starting a war.
Yes, Trump has lied about many things, but he has NOT started a war, or lied over that.(up to now)
....AGAIN .... BUSH JR. IS A KILLER !!!! WAR KILLS
................... and, we must..NEVER, NEVER forget that...
....You see there is something Trump did that is very good (at this point) Trump kept us out of war. As bad as Trump is with his talk, attitude, stupidity and racism, (and whatever else you want to say) Trump has kept us out of war. And Yes, I HATE TRUMP...BUT I HATE BUSH JUNIOR MORE.

(22,976 posts)As involved Democrats, weve known for decades what the Republican Party really stood for, but, until Trump, many of their worst policies were dressed up and sugar-coated enough to fool far too many voters.
The Trump administration abruptly dropped any pretense of charade, and instead revealed in broad daylight what the Republican Party truly is: fueled by hate for POC/LGBT+/women; anti-democracy; anti-science; anti immigrant; anti-education; anti-environment; anti-climate change; anti-healthcare; all with an utter disregard for the LAW.
With Trump, Republicans have shown their true colors an outrageous mix of the Nazi swastika, the Confederate battle flag, and the banner of Mother Russia.

You're spot-on about the sugar coating, especially with regard to tax and budget policy.
The GOP is primarily anti-tax and anti-regulation. The other stuff is just for show to corral more votes (a concerted effort which I feel is now out of control).
With his fascist leanings, he's also made many Americans keenly aware of how fragile our democracy may well be......
