I was feeling yucky because of the conflict but super charged because of posting the truth - much comes from du links and videos - facts not lies

I just find it incredulous that anyone can like or vote for the other side given all the facts about them - but they do

It is nice to come back and have such a supportive response to my post

Re affirms - it is good to be a democrat

Only one old HS classmate, that I haven't seen in 45 years, asked for some "facts" and when I posted links, she dismissed them as "Liberal" blogs, not Real News. I asked her if she got informed from Faux and of course she did. I sent her links to the Florida court case where they plead "we don't have to tell the truth, we are Entertainment" but she didn't reply.

read it on your page. I promise you, there are few things more gratifying than someone saying, "You made me think about that/look into that/research that, and I've changed my mind". But when they try to shove BULLSHIT down the pike, my idea of bipartisanship becomes, "I'll hug your elephant when you kiss my ass" Because...

It is also fun to tell them to fuck off. Just sayin'.

Seems like most facebook members are in the same boat. Could shed 3/4 of their facebook friends and all it would do is clean out the riff raff. The people left behind are the ones that actually give a damn about you.

decades ago high school and some college and random others I picked up along the way - most I don't know - getting to know some on facebook

It is neat to see which ones are democrats

Not surprised about the ones that are republicans - some I am

Just feel better having come back here and seen all these positive uplifting responses

I make it a point not to have Republican friends. There are Republicans I know casually, but that's where I draw the line.

It's a shame it has to be that way, but alas the current GOP leadership is made up of sociopaths and their bile runs downhill.

From Proverbs 17:17

"A friend loveth at all times."

Sometimes the "fog" becomes the source of security, not something to get out of.

Find a postive way to use your energies and your time. Volunteer locally...just a thought.

and by trolling, i mean posting pro-republican videos that are so cringe-inducing that it should make them be embarassed to be a part of such a backwards political party.

case in point, one of my favorite 2012 campaign songs:

I have republican friends, but they tend to be somewhat moderate. Of course, when I detect teabaggerry or bat-shit crazy, I preemptively unfriend them. Unfortunately, I do have a couple douchebag relatives.

We attended high school together, but were barely acquaintances.

Plus, I posted a link which turned into an argument between my brother and the guy. My brother wiped the floor with the guy, who kept on coming back for more humiliation. It was not a fair fight! He should have been embarrassed, but, he is 100% on board with whatever idiotic church he goes to, and whatever RW pundits he follows.

and I DO have a few conservative friends and family. They can ignore my posts if they wish.

I only post this stuff on MY wall. I never take it to them, which would be very rude IMHO. If they post something conservative on their wall I simply don't respond. There is no need for them or me to get nasty. I guess they know that I am not confrontational, just opinionated.

And if anything I post has a teensy effect on them, that's cool. I just don't feel I have to "convert" them - "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still".

I get a lot of my great liberal FB stuff from a lifelong republican, lol. He finds the current crop of them to be completely psychotic.

One RW vet buddy finally threatened to send me all his email to screen before he forwards it, lol!

Usually. Their outrage is so predictable. Like yesterday, outrage #1 "they failed to acknowledge God!!" and #2 "those chickenshit Godless Commie wimps put Him back!!" Arrgh.
And "how can women support Bill Clinton after he cheated on Hillary?" Like that really matters when it comes to policies that affect women.
I rarely argue with them although they love to try to start fights. Funny thing is my 2 main Repug FB friends are people I'm quite fond of in real life.
I do have fun putting comments on Mitt's and Boehner's pages.
