So Here's the Question, Republicans ...

You put a lying, self-serving idiot in the White House.

You put a Russian-colluding traitor in the White House.

You put a law-breaking, Constitution-defying, immoral pig in the White House.

And it is now becoming increasingly obvious that you put a mentally unstable madman in the White House.

Listen to his speeches, read his tweets. Your IMPOTUS is unhinged – and he’s only going to get worse.

You covered up his lies, his stupidity, his incompetence, his crimes.

How long do you think you can cover up his insanity?

Am I just looking for fault in him?
Am I really just a sore loser?
Is he really as bad as I think he is?

After really pondering where we are at this point in his Presidency and the things he's done, the answers are:

No
No
Yes

I don't think the damage that he has inflicted in 3 years can be undone in my lifetime. My children and grandchildren will be grappling with the mess he leaves behind for decades.

trump is giving them the judges they need for decades. They will get Roe v Wade overturned and then they will work on outlawing Gay marriage. Everyone was warned, but some folks hated Hillary more than what a trump presidency would mean.

my mom had a theme she adhered to right to the end: Lying will make you crazy. Liars have to keep their lies in order and rely on others to always tell the truth. Once a liar gets exposed the lies get out of control and the liars mental processes begin to break down with their false assertions.
Having worked for a trial lawyer as a trial assistant, process server and investigator I witnessed how he would dismantle the lies. He would read the discovery and find inconsistencies is the evidence. Then he would introduce a slight fabrication in his questioning knowing only the witness is under oath. Once he got the witness lying under oath he would deconstruct the witness's story by going back to previous testimony and evidence. He was an expert at impeaching (not a pun) liars on the witness stand.
"Everything changes once the lying starts" is what he would say once he had the witnesses lying under oath. There's a good reason why "The Siberian Candidate" wouldn't give sworn testimony to Mueller.
Mark Twain said the best part of telling the truth is you don't have to think about it. Trump lies because he's never been taken to task.
We are entitled to have Trump testify under oath, and if he refuses......
The Romanov family beckons from Hades.

Nance, Trumpanzees don't feel responsibility, or shame, or remorse; Trump's very existence at the top of the political heap, bearing a giant -R after his name, is all they care about.

They won, we lost. Giggle, giggle, giggle.

Yes, they're that vapid.

Federal judges...fetuses! (Feti?)....guns!....shitting on the gays!....it's OK to be a racist asshole again!....and Christian evilgelicals as arbitrators of everything "moral".

Apparently it's worth having a crazy man destroy the Constitution. They were never all that fond of democracy, anyway. Too messy. Back in the late 90's, I once heard James Dobson of Focus on Your own Goddamn Family fame, bemoan that democracy was inferior to a theocratic monarchy. In a moment of actual honesty, his true motives were revealed all those years ago.

For Tump supporters the "insanity" is a feature, not a flaw. But what we perceive as insanity they see as "telling it like it is" in a manner that drives libs crazy while pushing all the buttons which validate their worst instincts and resentments.

Trump gets away with being a pathological liar because the age of the internet has brought us to a place where totally different versions of reality have provided havens of confirmation bias to further reinforce the decades of propaganda from talk radio and Fox News.

It's all been crafted into a unifying ideology that hooks people by their religious beliefs while waving the flag of pseudo patriotism and demonizing baby killing liberals who are waging a war against Christianity and threatening to take "their country" away from them by opening our borders to swarms of brown people who rape and murder.

Trump gets away with his insanity because 40% of the voting public is insane and because the oligarchy increases and holds onto their great wealth and power by dividing the American people, keeping us at each other's throats instead of working together for our own common interests.

The Republican Party serves the oligarchy and has had a large degree of political success with the lies and propaganda which are the foundation of today's "conservative" ideology. Many of them may have despised Trump but like it or not he took the lies and demagoguery to the next level, trouncing them all in siezing (with the help of Vlad Putin) the most powerful political office on the planet.

Republicans will do everything they can to protect that power because it is the foundation of their own and because they will be abandoned by their campaign donors and their primary voters if they dare stand up against this treasonous degenerate.

It is a mountain of insanity that has to be climbed and overcome by those of us who can see the insanity for what it is.

Though we are the majority there is considerable wealth and power arrayed against us, along with the anachronistic Electoral College and Republican controlled state governments which have been busy at voter suppression since a rightwing majority Supreme Court overturned the Voting Rights Act.

I long for a sane world in which revelations of Trump's insanity, appalling ignorance, lies, racism, crimes, and treasonous behavior would render him incapable of controlling a major political party or winning an election, but that is not the world we live in right now. Outrages and scandals which should have sunk him long ago have become the new normal, at least for him (different rules apply to Democrats).

We are in an existential battle for the life of our Constitutional republic, for liberal democracy throughout the world, and for the sustainability of life on our precious planet.

Insanity has siezed power. We have to defeat it.

Major media are for-profit corporations which thrive on ratings. They serve the bottom line and shareholder value, not the public interest.

There are exceptions, but not enough responsible journalism to adequately inform the public.

In order to install their corporate-fascist regime, they have to destroy the liberal-democratic system that has existed heretofore. This is tRump's purpose, and he's fulfilling it to the tee.

Another term of it, and democracy will be a past-tense period of our history.
