Kansas cop off force after fake claim McDonald's workers wrote 'pig' on coffee cup

A Kansas police officer resigned Monday after fabricating a story that employees at a local McDonald’s wrote the words “F---ing Pig” on his coffee cup.

Herington Police Chief Brian Hornaday said on Saturday that one of his officers went to McDonald’s in Junction City, Kansas, before work and was given the cup in question, NBC affiliate KSNT reports. After further investigation, the department discovered the unidentified Herington officer made the story up.

"This was completely and solely fabricated by a Herington police officer no longer employed with the agency," Hornaday told reporters Monday.

The chief said that the McDonald's employees had nothing to do with the hoax and were incredibly cooperative during the investigation.

The ex-officer, who remained unidentified, was a former military police officer in the army and had been on the small town’s force for two months. He told Hornaday the incident was supposedly intended to be a joke.

"I truly hope the former officer of the Herington Police Department that did this understands the magnitude of the black eye this gives the law enforcement profession from coast to coast," Hornaday said.

Should make him as popular as Jussie Smollett.

It is no longer a personal matter when he blasted it on Facebook.

As there was no violence during this incident, why would the police chief apologize for police violence while addressing this incident?

However, the police chief should have apologized for his own previous statements supporting his fired officer's false allegations.

"This is not only bad for McDonald's, but is also a black eye for Junction City.

No, Chief Hornaday. A black eye for Junction City is a police chief who runs his mouth before he knows the facts. A police chief who publicly insults the whole town to defend a lying piece of shit. You gave Junction City a black eye, Chief Hornaday.

learn from Chief Hornaday's embarrassing experience. He jumped up to publicly defend this lying piece of shit officer, and he disparaged the people at the McDonald's and the whole fucking town, before any investigation took place. Now he looks like a fool.

Here's what Chief Hornaday had to say about this, before he learned what really happened:

“This is what he paid for. Although I understand this is likely the act of one person and not a representation of the company, when it was brought to their attention the company offered him a ‘free lunch.’ No thank you. A Big Mac and large fries doesn’t make up for it. The US Veteran who continues to serve deserves much more. This is not only bad for McDonald's, but is also a black eye for Junction City.”

Well the enforcers have black eyes for being little snowflakes and using the power of the badge to harass people they are supposed to serve.

At least where I live, McDonald’s doesn’t even write names on the cups, they just hand it to the customer as soon as payment is tendered. What an idiot.

There is never any evidence it actually happened, but this time there was a franchise owner who stood up for their staff and against the cops and the faux outrage.
