(111,138 posts)It looks like she's working really late, poor Hillary. No wonder she says she's looking forward to retiring. She's been among the hardest working SOSes ever, lots of bridges to mend after 8 years of wrecking balls like Rice and Bolton.
The stock market seems to have liked the speech, too. It likely won't last, but it was up >230 the last time I checked.

(2,097 posts)She's in Asia right now, so she's actually watching it at a reasonable hour (around lunchtime, I think).

(111,138 posts)That's worse!
However, my other statements stand. She's really grown into that job and she's been one of the best we've ever had.

(2,097 posts)She actually got to Asia last week for the Pacific Island Summit, so she may be over the worst of the jetlag. But no argument: one of the great Secretaries of State.

(17,528 posts)It must have been tough not to have been there. SoS is such a hard job! I personally think it's more exhausting and difficult than being president.

(135,425 posts)First of all, it was a shitty and childish thing to say.
Second, it shows you didn't even take the essential elements of the story--you just did a cheap "snark and run."
She is watching him on DELAY. She was unable to watch it live because she had to WORK; that is a recording.
So gee, she doesn't know "exactly where he is and who is with"--so there goes your nasty little thesis all to hell. Yet despite that, she is smiling. You might try that sometime. A smile beats a cheap shot any day of the week.
I found your post offensive on a number of levels. Worthy of sites that aren't this one, perhaps--but unworthy of this one.
Details for anyone interested in facts and not crude speculations: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/how-did-hillary-watch-bills-speech-clinton-aide-gives-fascinating-account/
So she was watching a feed from 9,930 miles away. The stream held up shockingly well, only a couple of hiccups along the way for a few seconds each time. Though when it happened nobody was sure it would resume, so there were a few moments of anxiety. From the moment the introductory video came on, she was riveted as were the members of the traveling party who watched with her. Its safe to say that she loved every single minute of it. Its possible she did not blink even once. When the speech ended, she was as surprised and excited as everyone in the arena and watching at home when President Obama joined President Clinton on stage. She had no idea it was coming, she cheered and practically jumped out of her chair.
By the way, in case you didnt know where Timor-Leste is either, its located between Australia and Indonesia...

(25,406 posts)I actually love Clinton. He was a great President and his impeachment was a travesty. My post was intended to be light-hearted humor, based on his rogueish reputation, but obviously fell flat. I will delete.

(135,425 posts)He's done his penance, he spent his exile in the doghouse, he begged forgiveness, he's learned to stay on the porch, and Madame Secretary has accepted his apologies, indicated her forgiveness, and gotten past that painful time. It's been YEARS since that shit went down--heck, I was still working in DC in that timeframe, and I am well and truly retired now.
The wingnuts continue to play like it was yesterday, and ongoing--like Coulter's comment that Clinton was screwing Sandra Fluke backstage on twitter. It's just a low-down shitty place to go.
I am glad you deleted.
