Hmmm, let's see ... four years ago ...

In September of 2008 the nation reported 159,000 lost jobs, the highest number in 5 years (and it would get even worse under Bush.) This month, we are awaiting a report which will spotlight the 30th consecutive month of job GAINS.
On September 5, 2008, the DOW closed at 11,220, on it's way to under 7,000 before President Obama's policies stemmed the collapse. As I type this, on September 6, 2012, the DOW is at 13,286 and surging, having gained almost 7,000 points from the nadir of the Bush Recession.
In 2008 the average number of service men and women in Iraq was estimated to be 168,000 troops. In 2012 the average is 4,050.
In 2008 the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was just a dream. In 2012, it is the law of the land.
In 2008, affordable health care was unavailable to millions of Americans. Today it exists.
In 2008, gay and lesbian members of the US Armed Forces had to lie in order to serve their country. In 2012 they can serve openly and proudly.

That is by no means an exhaustive list, but there is just one more thing: In 2008 WE HAD A FUCKING IDIOT IN THE OVAL OFFICE!

So, on balance, I would have to say FUCK YES, WE ARE WAY BETTER OFF THAN WE WERE FOUR YEARS AGO!

you're better off than you were because they're getting worse much slower.

And this is with a criminal cartel in Congress that has been holding the country back in order to put a President out of office.
