Luke Russert - HUhhh?

He just said usually VPs speak during prime time at conventions and he will not be doing that tonight. Then he said he'll be speaking in the 9pm hour. The 9pm hour is smack dab in the middle of TV Prime Time. (Remember that little show called Seinfeld on at 9:30pm?)

Biden's speech, if at 9:00 P.M. Eastern time, will be on at 7:00 Mountain and 6:00 Pacific -- out of prime-time for half the country.

I've always considered The Simpsons a primetime cartoon and it's always started at 7:00 in my neck of the woods. Same with every other network weekday lineup.

6:00 isn't, of course, but the Pacific isn't half the country.

I would have thought he would already know this, being Tim's boy and all. But we should try to be helpful where we can.

The networks don't start showing the convention until 10pm.

Biden will be speaking after 10pm. Count on it.

But when you're born to privilege I guess that's all you need. He's very green and not obviously talented.

on a 5000 watt radio station in East Jesus, North Dakota would be a great place for him. Maybe he could grow up to be Ted Baxter.

I remember when Martin Bashir was trying to get him to express an opinion (don't remember about what), and he would only keep repeating his talking points. Martin good naturedly said, "you're a tough interview, Luke." And Luke said something to the effect of, "yeah, I'm tougher than Michael Jackson, aren't I?" very sarcastically. THAT did it for me, the little smart-ass.

They didn't take him along with the adults to Charlotte. Methinks that was a bit of a slap at his rank in the network hierarchy.

I only mention that worthy archipelago because I heard him refer to them as "The Marinaras" about a week ago. I cannot for the life of me remember why, but I am content to imagine beautiful tropical islands smothered in tomato sauce.
