How much more proof do Republicans need that all Trump really cares about is himself.

With the Senate trial looming, it has become apparent that a strong majority of Americans expect that there should be a real trial with witnesses and the release of documents, but Trump is still pushing for the Republicans in the Senate to forego that and simply acquit him. He doesn't care how bad the party looks, or whether he might lose the Senate because of Senators in tough races voting to save him from the embarrassment of whatever might come out, as long as he can declare exoneration. Whatever is out there must be really bad.

1. He's bribing and using threats, and probably extorting republicans, and probably judges,

Using them now, but soon he'll throw them aside then bypass then after he gets what he wants,, but it could be too late for them , as only the most corrupt ones will prosper , and be backed by them. All the rest of them will have no power to stop him from corrupting our government completely for absolute power, like putin has done in russia. republicans have been compromised by corruption , and personal scandals they are involved in, and putin and trump are using this to control their votes with now. Illegally gathering information on his party and opponents? I think he and putin are doing this to use against all of them. putins done this and a lot more to remain in power there, and now behind trump doing the same here I suspect.

2. It scares me to think of what they've covered up

Whatever we imagine Trump has done, I am sure it is SO much worse. He has probably done things that have been covered up and no one even suspects. I mean really, as much of a womanizer as Trump has been in the past, I find it hard to believe that he hasn't hit on many, many women or even assaulted a few, WHILE he was President. And the business dealings I'm sure have been sleazy and dirty as well. I still can't figure out WHY they would attempt to cover it all up. Deep, deep down, ALL the Republicans in Congress know what a lying, amoral dirtbag he is. I keep hoping that we will reach a tipping point, but so far I've been disappointed.
