How many witnesses should Democrats request for the trial?

Schumer, the Minority Leader in the Senate, mentioned four names the other day, all from the OMB. It included Mick Mulvaney, but he left John Bolton off his original list.

Should they stop at those 4 or 5 witnesses?

Rand Paul, the ever-present nuisance, suggested that Hunter Biden should be called as one of the witnesses for the other side? Sounds almost "fair and balanced" - which isn't "fair and balanced".

How many relevant witnesses might be over-looked as they seek some sort of "partisan balance" to the trial? The idea of justice cannot stand on its own, without help from its partisan Republican friend?

But, if irrelevant "witnesses" are permitted, then there should be no limit on witnesses. Democrats could request several more witnesses.

Perhaps they should?

How is Hunter Biden directly connected to the Trump impeachment or trial? Too bad Speaker Pelosi can't withdraw the Articles. Then they could impeach him again. Just for the heck of it.

Trump, Pence, Pompeo, Bolton, RICO Rudy, Mulvaney, etc.

However, I think Bolton plus the original 4 Schumer mentioned would be good. Too many risks dragging it out for too long of a time.

But I do hope that Moscow Mitch doesn't get it all wrapped up with a bow on it before the SOTU so that The Orange One can crow about being totally exonerated. Which he will, you know. He will for ever and always be one of three impeached Presidents of the United States. Nothing can change that. I'm sure he will say that he was NOT impeached, because that's how he rolls.

If it takes more witnesses, then it takes more witnesses. Democrats should not be hesitant to call for them.

the National Security Council. But the most important would probably be Bolton, Mulvaney and Pompeo. I'd settle for those four.

In the Project for A New American Century, Bolton referred to Egypt as "the prize". For this Impeachment Trial, John Bolton is the prize.

And they need the full document from the Top Secret computer they hid it on. They need more than a copy from Donald Trump. He has not shown himself to be particularly honest.

We should also take note that each Senator is a juror, and can submit written questions to the Chief Justice, who will relay them to the House Managers for responses.

It could get very interesting.
