The ability to reach our Senators is particularly important during the impeachment trial. Twice....

...... In the last 24 hours I have tried to reach Senator Ron Johnson. I was unable to speak to the Senator or another live body from his office. Twice I was rolled over to a messaging system to leave a message. A message to tell Sen. Ron Johnson that this third generation U.S. Veteran wants Senator Johnson to vote for witnesses and documents for the impeachment trial. And TWICE I got an outgoing message saying "this mailbox is full".

I was not really surprised as previous attempts to reach the Senator have always ended up the same way. "This mailbox is full". Statewide rumors suggest that a full mailbox is standard operating procedure for this Senators office.

I have no doubt Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin has already made up his mind to vote a strict party line REGARDLESS of what evidence might say.

1. Me too.

I finished calling 51 GOP senators about an hour ago and he is one of the 10 who either had a full mailbox or wouldn't allow an "after hours" message. I wish that more mailboxes were full since that would mean people are calling. This is how it was during the ACA vote 2+ years ago. The majority of mailboxes were full. I guess Americans finally have been worn down by the GOP BS. I will call the 10 I missed again tomorrow though.

2. This will probably get deleted,

but I totally believe that these people just don't want to hear from their constituents. And I'm saying this from responses I've received from Kamala Harris and a couple of others, which boil down to form letters which had nothing to do with what I said.

Go ahead and delete this if you must. The truth will come out.

3. Does he have local offices in Wisconsin?

My experience in trying to call Pat Toomey's office is that they NEVER answer the phone in his DC office and half the time his voice mailbox is full. So, I resort to calling his Pittsburgh office and always get a live person on the phone.

9. Haven't been able to get a live person in Toomey's Pgh

office either the last couple of days. Tried his Erie office, too, and also was sent to voicemail. OTOH, Sen Casey's staffers almost always pick up the phone regardless of which office I call.

4. yes, call a local office

and then contact your local media and tell them that you are a veteran trying to reach your senator and never able to even leave a message in the mailbox. And then take pen to paper, write a letter by hand, and mail it to local office. Triple whammy.

5. They are ALL in the chamber remember, along with staff.

Calling the local offices and flooding them with all message types is most effective right now. They might hear about it if we were all in the streets and/or shutting down key networks.

Recall how the last gov shutdown ended.

6. As I suggested in my OP this isn't the first time or first issue that I have tried to call the....

..... Washington office to express my concerns. To date I have never spoke to a live person in Johnson's Wisconsin office nor I have received any response other than a form letter.

Thank you for interest in this ...yada...yada...yada.

Senator Baldwin on the other hand has always respond to my contacts to her office. As a veteran she had one of her staff members contact me to discuss my concerns about veteran service. Including access to healthcare.

I will follow-up to Johnson's office with a call and letter to his in state office. Hoping to receive a timely response to my concern about his vote to allow witnesses and additional documents. It will not do me any good to get a response month from now.

Another yada..yada..yada response will likely be late and a simple generic response anyway.
