How does it make sense for the trump defense team to attack Hunter Biden?
The impeachment charge: trump withheld aide money to Ukraine in order to extort them into investigating the Bidens.
The trump defense: it's fishy that Hunter Biden made a lot of money in Ukraine so he should have been investigated. That's the defense, and it's utterly stupid because it actually supports the impeachment charge. Of course, the d stupidity of that unintended congruity will be lost on trumpists, who will assert that suspicion of Hunter's income excuses away trump's extortion.... never mind that almost all of their orange hero's lifetime income has been suspicious. You know, I've served on juries a couple of times... and it's sad to say that throwing irrelevant fogs and smokes and irrelevancies and red herrings and non sequiturs, etc., on a case can be very effective defensively. And to top it off, Republicans are not very bright in the first place.

5. Diversion and go on the attack is the go-to tactic when a Republican has nothing to stand on

6. Well Zerlinsky didn't smear him. Somebody's got to!
This ENTIRE thing is over and includes his attempt to destroy a political rival by any means necessary. That’s it. Think about that for a minute.

8. Like you said. Just blowing smoke, and trying to claim there was corruption in Obama admin,
with hopes of hurting Biden and Democrats.
The 40% in trump’s white wing base cheered it. Question is, if another 10% or so are too stupid to see what’s going on, or just don’t care. |

11. Yep that's all they have
trump is guilty, and they know it. All they can do is follow trumps "script" and lie, lie, lie.

12. The average "only half-way paying ...
... attention” voter will simply conclude that if the investigations the Orange shitstain wanted were kinda legit, then he’s all good.
That’s all the defense team cares about. His base is loyal and will vote for him. Anyone paying attention hates him and will never vote for him. He’s trying to slip this past the mushy middle and minimize the amount of water he takes on. |

13. It's what Trump does. It's how he knocked down 16 GOP opponents in 2016...
He picked them off one by one until he was the only one left. Very simple formula: he lies and lies and lies.
But the lies are tailored to the individual and all show a pattern: Make up a nasty belittling nickname and use it often Find an emotional weak spot (Ted Cruz loves his wife) and get inside their head and under their skin (Your wife so ugly. How ugly is she? Too ugly to "date" ) Stick the knife in. Twist it. Mock the victim's response (Cruz choked and teared up) Keep this up until they quit Move on immediately to the next one It does not matter if you think your chosen candidate is godlike and can stand up to a Cat 5 hurricane. It does not matter if you think Joe Biden is too old or whatever. Know this: once Joe and Hunter Biden are destroyed your candidate is next. So we either stick together and defend each other, or Trump/Pence is guaranteed to win this November. |

Personally, I'd never realized it until just now - and it's horrifying.

16. Thank you, I'll consider that
I've been ranting about this for 4 years -- Trump is a master of the ugly things he does, and knocking out 16 qualified GOP presidential candidates (some of them super-qualified, like Jeb and Mitt) was a jaw-dropping sustained performance.
One. At. A. Time. So this idea of offering up either of the Bidens to the Senate is absolutely an abomination. |

If they can't do it in Ukraine, they'll do it in the Senate.

19. They believe the Democrats will protect Joe Biden by not permitting Hunter Biden as a witness...
...and in doing so, will not permit any other witnesses, which might tend to severely incriminate Donald Trump.
