Just now. She said, "We are there."
Asking about how can we protect those who speak out. Interviewing Mary McCord who was with DOJ for a long time RE DOJ intervening in Stone case.
Asking McCord what we can do. "How should we be answering these alarms as a country?"

Dan Rather: "They are counting on despair. That's how they win."
"There is a tendency to feel the despair well up from within, and not recognize it as a weapon being wielded with precision and purpose from without. They are counting on despair.
The greatest leaders in our history knew that despair is toxic to progress. Washington at Valley Forge. Lincoln at Gettysburg. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Birmingham. But more than the famous names are the countless women and men who have fought back against despair in the service of hope, and progress. I have seen it in foxholes, on picket lines, in classrooms, and in midst of natural disasters. I have seen it in the marches, movements, and moments where people rose up and said our world can be better, and we will do the hard work to make it so.
Despair these days is an understandable feeling. Our world seems in many ways upside down. To fight against the odds, against the powerful, against the morally bankrupt, is exhausting. But just remember, they are counting on despair. Will you let them have it?"

I have NO faith in these traitors to step up and do the right thing. The repigs have proven what side they're on. We can count on ONE fucking repig senator, and that is PATHETIC.
Just the thought of these people in charge for another 4 years makes me just recoil in revulsion. I fucking hate every single one.

(34,104 posts)American journalists and/or critics of trump will start disappearing and dying. And the worst part is there won't be any consequences. Everyone in the position to do something will either be in denial or part of the cover up.

(12,842 posts)The people who are vulnerable disabled old or sick will be suffering until they die with the money grab trump wants to kill the social safety net.and by proxy murder them. A lot of people will dissapear/ die. Trump and the republicans are sociopath criminals every last one.
These evil fascist trump fuckers and the corporate pigs that enable this shit need to be tossed out the door on thier asses . If need be physically removed from power and tossed out on thier asses and thier power reduced by taking back thier ill gotten wealth they use to control bribe and abuse the people in this country. Enough is enough.

(12,842 posts)Agree. Trump is a proxy murderer.
And he's murdering the country and abusing it along with his sociopath asshole criminal buddies and the fucking brainwashed narcissitic pieces of shit just like him.
1/3 statistically is how many narcissists sociopaths and authoritarians we have in our population. It's no coincidence they like trump because he is just like them.

(3,837 posts)The senators are enablers of this destructive person who is quickly turning the rule of law into nothing. As long as they (and his base) feel the same as him then it's truly an uphill battle for the rest of us. I keep hoping Mitt is not the only one with a conscience or possibly others don't like seeing our country trashed in this way.

(288 posts)Attention: This is not a drill! This is a fascist coup! this is happening in real-time right before your eyes. Buy a gun... My Dad had a BAR in North Africa, Anzio, and all the way through Germany! Because, they didn't care about protest signs back then. And they don't now...

This fat Orange excuse for a person is terminally despicable as well as stupid. The millions who voted for him have serious judgement issues.
Oh and the Electoral College needs to go away. Minus that HRC would be in Office and we would be in a different place, not the crisis we are now in.

(5,880 posts)We here at DU have been on high alert for a long time. Others not so much. I tried without success to talk to my son ages ago. It isn't easy to bring people up to speed in a few minutes. They lose patience and think YOU are the one who has lost their mind. Trying to explain all the connections to Putin and all of that and you start to think maybe you are losing your sh*t....even though you know better. Large numbers of the American people are not ready to hear this. They still think they are safe and nothing is wrong. Until they get confronted by a tank, theyll not listen or will minimize the warnings.
As I said to my husband tonight.....what are we supposed to do, March on Washington? Who is organizing a march? Is anyone anywhere doing anything besides sounding the alarm? Will protests do anything besides identify who they must kill off?
Are we all waiting for someone else to do the planning and pre-event work? Im confused and disheartened to realize what deep sh*t we are in right now. And yet everyone seems to be going about their business as if nothing is wrong. Waiting for someone else to do something.
