Rush Limbaugh Is Dying For His Own Sins

snip//

I'm gonna save my total contempt for Limbaugh when he finally dies for his sins and the sins of the savage conservatism that he helped usher us into like the porcine gatekeeper at Hell's deepest shit pit. My initial reaction to his diagnosis was "What did cancer ever do to deserve Rush Limbaugh?" You can call me an asshole or talk about how we should love our enemies or how terrible lung cancer is or what you will. But Limbaugh is not suffering nearly enough. I hope he shits blood every day for the rest of his shortened life.

I'm not a Buttigieg voter in the primary. I find his positions too moderate to conservative for my taste. This ain't about him. It's about how Rush Limbaugh was given a pass for a couple of days because of his illness and his appearance as a weak old fuck at the State of the Union, "shocked" that he was being given the medal then. And he doesn't deserve anything but abject hatred for being one of the most destructive forces in the media not named "Ailes" or "Murdoch." And his attacks on Buttigieg are of a piece with his entire pathetic career of tearing the nation apart.

Limbaugh has been queasy and angry about the lesbian and gay community for decades (he's been actively hostile to the transgender community, but that is a whole post to itself). Back in the 1980s, he was so antagonistic about the AIDS crisis that he ran an AIDS Update for a month, mocking victims of the disease to theme songs like "Back in the Saddle Again" (before he actually had to back down and apologize). He was enraged at the federal funding going to sex education, especially as it related to HIV/AIDS. Limbaugh was whipping people into such an anti-gay frenzy that it likely caused actual harm to people who were dying. As recently as 2004, he was claiming that HIV doesn't spread to straight people unless they were promiscuous, like, he claimed, people in Africa are. He's also equated same-sex marriage to acceptance of pedophilia and bestiality.

In 2016, he was attacking, no, really, lesbian farmers because the Obama administration wanted to have a summit to talk about LGBT Americans who were living in rural states. "So here comes the Obama Regime with a bunch of federal money and they’re waving it around, and all you gotta do to get it is be a lesbian and want to be a farmer and they’ll set you up. I’m like you; I never before in my life knew that lesbians wanted to be farmers. I never knew that lesbians wanted to get behind the horse and the plow and start burrowing." And if you don't think that was intentionally a crude sex joke, you don't know Presidential Medal of Freedom winner Rush Limbaugh.

As you might imagine, there is so much more.

In 1994, on his radio show, he said, "When a gay person turns his back on you, it is anything but an insult; it’s an invitation." Well, now Rush Limbaugh is getting ass-fucked by cancer. It's been shoved down his throat and burrowed into him. He will not have some deathbed change of heart. He will not be humbled. He is what he has always been: an infected carbuncle on the right ass cheek of democracy.

56. He can't get a lung transplant
Sat Feb 15, 2020, 05:49 PM
Feb 2020

I'm a nurse and I used to work in a heart/lung transplant center. Cancer is an absolute rule-out for an organ transplant: A transplant might replace the affected organ, but it doesn't guarantee that there's no cancer that's spread to distant organs/tissues, either. They aren't going to waste the organ, especially on aggressive cancer like his. I don't know whether he has small or non-small-cell cancer. Survival rates are as follows:

Non-small-cell is good if caught early:
5-year relative survival rate
Localized 61%
Regional 35%
Distant 6%
All SEER stages combined 24%

Small-cell lung cancer has terrible survival rates:
5-year relative survival rates
Localized 27%
Regional 16%
Distant 3%
All SEER stages combined 6%

His is advanced (or regional/distant), which is usually defined as Stage IIIB or Stage IV. "Stage IIIB tumors are of any size and have spread to lymph nodes on the other side of the chest, near the collarbone, or have invaded other structures in the chest such as the heart or esophagus. Stage IV tumors have spread to the space between the layers lining the lungs (known as malignant pleural effusion) or to another region of the body. Lung cancer most commonly spreads to the bones, the liver, the brain, or the adrenal glands."
So reading off the survival rates, based on types, AT BEST, he has a 35% chance of living 5 years. More likely 3-6%.

They probably will need to put a fence around his grave, and a 24/7/365 armed guard to protect the thousands of people a year that would do the last thing you mentioned.

Frankly, in reality, his liver should have been long gone ten years ago from the massive amount of acetaminophen that all the oxy he took had in it.......

And I still would like a reporter to do a story about how he avoided prosecution for having such huge amounts of oxy when they searched his house. Any other person would have been hammered with Dealing and given a prison sentence because there is no way any other person on earth could claim with the quantities he possessed that it was "for personal use".......
My only conclusion is that there were too many cops, DA's and Judges that worshipped his radio program.....How else could it be explained???????

79. Small point of fact ... Oxy (as in Oxycontin) has no acetaminophen ...
Sun Feb 16, 2020, 03:34 AM
Feb 2020

That's a huge part of why it's so desirable.

There's also instant release oxycodone pills, known as 'roxys', that also have no APAP.

Oxycodone itself, like the vast majority of opioids, causes no known damage to any internal organs.

And how much oxy do you reckon someone who's a real addict ... goes through over the course of, say, one year? If you're an addict, you want as much as you can get so you don't have to go out and find it all the time.

It also matters hugely how strong of Oxys they were ... there are 10, 20, 40, and 80mg versions, and at the time Rushbo was busted I believe they still had 160mg pills, but they don't make those anymore and were never easy to come by.

I don't know what the count was (do you?), but if you have 1000 x 10mg pills ... that ain't shit. If you have 1000 * 160mg pills, you've got pretty good amount of dope.

There was a time when I could've easily done up 1000 x 10mg oxycontins in a month, put it that way. And I knew people who were way bigger addicts than me. There are people who could do 100 of those a day, I shit you not.

I do agree with your point of how easy he got off though, to be clear!

94. Before Oxycontin or oxycodone only pills
Sun Feb 16, 2020, 01:43 PM
Feb 2020

What you said was very informative and also there is this:

There was Oxycodone/Acetaminophen. The oxycontin was developed to be Sustained Release, when druggies started crushing them and snorting them, the manufacturer added some ingredient to make them resist crushing. Then when the medical community realized that Acetaminophen was not particularly great for the liver, they cut back the amount of Acetaminophen from 500 to 325 in the Oxycodone/Acetaminopen pills. After the original O/A and Contins they developed the fast acting Oxycodone only pills.

The original Oxycodone/acetaminophen pills were the ones Rush was taking, at least at first.
Acetaminophen can be really toxic to the liver in larger quantities. Teenagers used to do "Suicide Overtures" with Asprin. (some act to attract attention, but not seriously try to off themselves)
When they switched to Tylenol, things got far worse. If the medics couldn't get the suicidal patient to vomit them up, or do a gastric lavage at the ER, and get them out of the teenage patient's stomach before they dissolved, chances were that the teen would need a liver transplant in 6-12 months.

Rush's suddenly having gone deaf (that, BTW, he insinuated was the left wing's work), was actually a major side-effect of overuse of Oxycodone......Besides, if the left wing wanted to silence him, they would have cut out his tongue.....

Thankfully he got a cochlear implant which many can not afford.......

98. Dude ... no offense, but you really don't know what you're on about ...
Sun Feb 16, 2020, 02:03 PM
Feb 2020

Not arguing about the toxicity of APAP in large quantities ... although you'd be surprised how much of THAT you can get away with doing ... and for how long. My best friend took about 20,000mg a day of the stuff every day for over a year once ... he's still around 30 years later and healthy.

Oxycontin has NEVER had APAP. Not then, not now, not ever.

Also, instant release non-APAP Oxycodone pills (aka Roxies) are much older than Oxycontin.

The formulation containing Oxycodone and APAP is called Percocet. That is also much older than Oxycontin. And those were also available with 325mg of tylenol rather than 500mg per pill ... before there was Oxycontin. Though the lower APAP formulations did become more popularly Rx'd around that same time.

Also, the danger of all the APAP in the commonly-used opioid pills was WEEEEELLLL KNOWN long before Oxycontin existed. In fact, it was purposefully put there to wreck your liver if you took too much. Back when Vicodin and Percocet were invented, I believe in the 1970's ... they did it on purpose to deter abuse. Didn't work.

Though it's fair to say that the invention and mass addiction caused by Oxycontin caused TPTB to rethink their 'wisdom' on all that APAP in the mass-prescribed vikes and percs, and Big Pharma began recommending the 325mg be Rx'd instead of 500mg pills. You see ... when you can't get oxys ... you take (LOTS OF) vikes or percs until you can (or do smack, or methadone, or morphine, or dilaudid). But that formulation already existed long before.

So the question is ... was Rush doing percocet, or was he doing oxycontin? Or did he start on one and move to the other? If he started on the percs, it's possible he wasn't doing that much or for that long before moving to Oxycontin.

You are correct that there was eventually a formulation of Oxycontin that made crushing and sniffing much more difficult. I first saw them in about 2005, they were generics (they were football-shaped instead of round), not Purdue Pharma, and I quit the shit not too long after so I'm not sure when crush-resistant pills totally replaced the original, crushable Purdue formulation. That would be whenever Purdue got their new crush-resistant formula approved and to market. I'd guess likely 2007 or 2008.

Another point of fact ... Opioids don't permanently damage your hearing. They desensitize you. You will feel like you're suffering hearing loss because your ears don't work as well. In high doses they can also cause ear-ringing. It's a side effect that goes away when you kick the dope. Side note ... opioids also cause olfactory and taste loss, and makes it damn near impossible to have an orgasm. They 'numb' all your senses, you see?

However, opioids are remarkably non-toxic and cause no known damage to any organ in your body ... but they do cause permanent changes to various endogenous neurotransmitter systems, which leaves you forever at the doorstep of becoming quickly re-addicted if you quit, and then mess with them again later.

Signed,

the boat loads of Oxy/acetaminophen he was cramming down his throat every hour of every day........

I flash back to Sonny Bono's skiing into a tree in Aspen. The tree won. His widow said he was on 10-12 Oxy a day and about 6-8 Valium.........Those are a really bad combo, no wonder he took on a tree.......

He's best known for that other lifestyle decision he made when he got his radio career off the ground. Absolute vindictive, insulting, deliberate cruelty. He lived to kick someone else when they were down, or up against some serious challenges, and he profited almost obscenely. I've been wondering what his comeuppance would be because somebody who made it his business to be mean-spirited and hurtful is undoubtedly about to be visited by that comeuppance. For all we know it's happening as we speak. Cancer is pretty doggone horrible.

The world will be just a wee bit better after he's gone. I'm sorry to say that about anybody, but there are some people who've earned it. As Hugo Chavez once put it - "there'll be a smell of sulfur..."

Hell, Dante even named Circle One after Ru$hbo. And don't be surprised to see Ann Coulter pop up in any of the nine circles, selling MAGA hats and Ditto t-shirts.

If I understand the theology correctly, suicide was considered the rejection of God's greatest gift, life itself. I don't know what they are currently teaching, but as recently as the 1960s that is how my ex-Catholic mother explained it to me.

In any case, societal attitudes in the West have changed a lot, so take it for what you will.

Reading Dante, with lots of annotations, can be quite illuminating. For one thing, he didn't hesitate to put a fair number of quite recognizable contemporaries into his Hell.

Here's something for the Senate Republicans: "The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality."

No, you'd be glad to have it gone. That malevolent spirit came from its existence while alive. That is the fate of Limbaugh.

and his dittoheads could call the local blowhards and keep them in line

at $1000/hr x 15 hrs/day x 1200 stations it's beeen worth $5BIL/year x 30 years for republicans/the right

putin has been using that monopoly propaganda operation since aat least 2008 when manafort was mccains campaign cochair and limbaugh wouldn't support mccain until minutes after he picked palin, timed for the friday before the gop convention aand minutes befor ethe start of the limbaaugh show. palin was being wooed by russian oil and gas as gov of alaska. without limbaugh'ss support mccain would have no cchance at all - it would have been a disaster.

he did the mon show but i think tues he went under the knife

this could be a huge plus. the ad industry has to adjust - was all built around limbaugh

with some activism aimed at talk radio

vague and his reveal was right at the time of the SOTU stunt. Not saying he doesn’t have it but he still could be around a long time and may recover
One thing I’m sure is happening is he’s getting lots of people to tune in everyday who feel they may have very little time to hear all his hate.

order to get him to the SOTU - hopefully the delay was significant...

and there was media about the medal before the sotu - and limbaugh acted surprised

the problem with it being blown up is the ad value for those 600 radio stations dropped big time aand some of them aare no doubt going to have to make programming changes in anticipation

is perched on the rungs of his hospital bed, balefully watching him slowly die in bits and pieces.

Every little bit, every little piece of him that dies represents a evil thing he said and/or done, in the past. So, he's going to take a long time to die, being that his gutter mouth has been running pretty well nonstop, for some time.

As they say (some do), you make your own karma, and the karma you make can be a bitch, and then, you die.

And somehow his ditto heads never put together all those wives over all those years
and somehow no kids but still he sold gay shaming to his radio audience. Not to mention
his trips to the Dominican Republic where he (reportedly) screwed under age boys and
then was caught with all that viagra but customs coming back into the states.

The man who played varsity tennis @ OSU, coached the tennis team, taught honors
chemistry in high school, and who I always thought was smart had his mind poisoned
by listening to Rush's vile lies and hate over the last 20 years.

Keep each other company.

Or better yet, cells down there that are some distance from each other. So they cannot hear each other’s whining, complaints, protestations of self-proclaimed victimhood about how unfair it is that they should have to face accountability for all their hatred and divisiveness and other sins.

When I was in HS and College in the late 70's, Early 80's, I was a radio announcer/DJ in order to help pay my way
through school. I have that "Radio Voice", to this day folks comment on it.

I spent some time working at a religious station where I played mostly tapes of all the usual BS.
Hell Fire, Dominionists, Money/Seed Preachers.... Made me nauseas! But, I got to do my homework,
and just punch the "play" button every half hour.

I used to imitate them, and Do their "Schtick" in front of friends and family...

My Mom would say, "Ya know, you should do that for real, and rake in the bucks, just like they do"!
Yes, I could have easily done that. Had the voice, was a top ranked debater in my home state, top ranked
in extemporaneous speech and drama too. I could have EASILY done that.

However, I have a conscience and soul!
There is no way I could deceive people, take their money, lie to them..

Rush, and his cohorts are exactly the same. Just cashing in on peoples fear, angst, hurt....

Maybe I'm stupid for not going down that path. Lord knows, I could have.

What makes someone's soul SO rotten that they actually say, "YEAH, I'm gonna do that"!?!

I guess I'm weird...

I imagine it'll be like the beginning of Family Guy, with all the former presidents (the dead ones) lined up on the Golden Staircase. At the top will be god (played by Charlton Heston), with Rump sitting in the right-hand chair. The left-hand chair will be empty, awaiting the other bringer of God's word.

I know Comrade Donald isn't dead yet, but maybe we can hope for a twofer.

Hear that, Jon McNaughton? Get busy!
