Man who allegedly hospitalized another in bar fight dies reportedly after round of Russian Roulette

A 23-year-old man died early Friday morning in Redding reportedly after sustaining a gunshot wound while playing Russian Roulette.

The Shasta County Coroner’s office said Chester Earl Brundage, 23, was pronounced dead at 5:15 a.m. Friday at Mercy Medical Center. He’d suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, though an official cause of death hadn’t been established, said a spokesman with the office.

Redding police responded to an emergency call around 4:40 a.m. reporting Brundage had been been shot playing Russian Roulette in the 2700 block of Russell Street, said Sgt. Todd Cogle with the Redding Police Department.

He said investigators are looking into whether Brundage died by playing the deadly game, in which participants take turns placing a revolver to their temples after placing a round in the chamber and spinning spins the cylinder.

Makes you wonder what's on for next weekend.

What makes people think this is an idea worth trying?

I used to tell my kids, "We did all kinds of stupid stuff when we were young. You don't have to. You have YouTube."

...intentionally and made the person playing the game think it only had one bullet in the chamber.

there was only one round.

I dunno. A guy would have to be pretty clueless to play
a game of RR without inspecting the gun first, very closely.
