4. Hitler was long dead at the time. Shitler was motivated by being ridiculed by Obama.

It ought to work but it just makes the orange menace double down.

5. Not really. He made a joke of Hitler and now people think Nazi's are kinda funny and

a little cool.

I applaud his effort, but I don't think he realized how soon the world would forget the incredible magnitude of Nazi atrocities.

6. Hitler was long since "slewed" by that time, I'm afraid.

12. Granted, in the literal sense. The *idea* of HITLER is different.

Literal = 1) HITLER defeated in WWII. 2) HITLER physically dead.

A case can be made that the *idea* of HITLER lives on via White Supremacists, SHITLER, and more. And I disagree with those who object to comparisons to HITLER, since all that holds SHITLER back is his thinking he can't get away with what he wants to do.

7. Nazi Comedy

Mel Brooks once said that the only way to respond to Hitler was to make fun of him. Fair enough.

Then there was the TV show, "Hogan's Heroes" which made the Nazis look like bumbling rubes. Good sit-com comedy.

The problem with both approaches is that they took place more than 2 decades after WW II. The Nazis had been defeated and we were in the throes of the "American Century."

Comedy will not defeat Trump and his supporters. If they are defeated, and I'm not certain that they will be, the comedy can come later.

13. What does "defeated" connote with regard to SHITLER? If at the polls, his Deplorables will continue.

8. 1. "Slewed" isn't a word.

2. Mel Brooks’ service against Hitler was performed in the US Army as a soldier. He went into comedy well after Hitler’s death.

3. If comedy could SLAY Trump he’d be gone, as he’s been comedy fodder non-stop since he entered politics. If anything he’s gotten stronger of late.

9. Your point is well taken

The Pentagon was likely much more offended by "Dr. Strangelove" than any straight film about nuclear peril.

Trump doesn't care if you hate him. He likes it if you fear him. But he hates to be mocked, ridiculed or satirized. The political ads that we are told by White House aids infuriated him the most were the ads that suggested people (and world leaders) laughed at him behind his back, mocked his physical appearance and overall incompetence. Also, recall his apoplectic overreactions to Saturday Night Live.

15. Full O.P. here. To those who got the attempt at whimsy, thanks. To those who didn't, s'long.

FULL O.P.:

Our answer: Mel BROOKS slewed hitler by laughter. Thus we do SHITLER.
