Avenatti's Attorney Eyes Stormy Daniels' Credibility as Defense to Theft Charges

A new attorney for Michael Avenatti, the disgraced California attorney convicted earlier this month of extorting Nike Inc., said he plans to make Stormy Daniels’ credibility a central issue in an upcoming trial on charges that he stole from the adult film star and one-time client.

Thomas Warren, a partner with Pierce Bainbridge Beck Price & Hecht, said Avenatti’s defense team would challenge inconsistent statements that Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, had made about her relationship with Avenatti, as well as money that she supposedly owed him for legal work he did on her behalf.

“I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to cross-examine Stormy Daniels in a million years,” Warren told reporters after a hearing Tuesday afternoon in Manhattan federal court.

“It isn’t a documents case, really. It’s a case about the credibility of Stormy Daniels,” he said.

I'm not sure this is going to help him among Super Tuesday voters.

Her lawyer says their legal agreement specified she owed him nothing more than $1 that Avenatti had agreed to accept plus he could keep all of the money he could raise publicly, so that explains why he was all over media fundraising and even tried to get Democratic Pacs to pay him for her case. He also floated idea of running for Presidency certainly with goal of raising lots of more money from his pac that he could profit from.

10. Yes, I have such mixed emotions.

I believed him because I WANTED to believe him. What was not to like? He was an attractive, articulate, no holds barred, spokesperson for Stormy, willing to circle the bowl with the turd as he attempted to flush it. I loved it.

He did help bring the turd legitimate bad press. He may also, now, be helping to negate the same.

Too bad he is nothing more than a con man. Sadly, I got took by a pretty face. (If I had a nickle..... )

11. It is a "documents case". There should be documents showing their pay arrangement and receipts.

There should also be documents showing the Gofundme amount and where that money went. If there is not, that is the fault of the attorney, not the client.

This is not a he said/she said. "Going after" the woman with a libidinous reputation is the last resort of a scoundrel.
