Walmart plastic bags that won't separate. (Venting)

Cashier lines were very busy/full. Not enough cashiers.

Tried self-service register but the plastic bags won't separate for old folks with bad hands.

Finally left the cart.

If they don't want to provide helpful service, let them put it away.

We have seen other companies that can get bags that are user friendly.

4. Walmart in Costa Rica has no bags

You can buy reusable bags.

Right before the disappearance of plastic bags, one grocery store charged 8cents a bag.

Don’t know if that helps your rant or not. But imagine buying $200 at Walmart and be told there are no plastic bags.

I have been on a mission to bring my own bags.... unfortunately Mr. Ohiogal forgets when he goes to the store by himself. We keep them in the car all the time.

Same size as a grocery store plastic bag. Or, just re-use the plastic ones as much as you can. They fold up small, too.

Btw, your abandoned cart is exactly why we don’t do the Shop for You thing. When they eventually restock abandoned items, they always put them in front. That’s exactly what the employees grab. We’ve seen abandoned meat in carts sitting in corners.

8. We have no plastic bags here in California and places like Walmart frequently run out of paper bags.

Bring your own bag works best.

Otherwise you pay ten cents for paper, or 99 cents for an awkward and mostly useless heavy plastic "reusable" bag.

Costco sold (maybe still sells) some nice bags I use for most of my shopping.

We also some nylon bags that can be scrunched up small enough to fit in a purse or jacket pocket.

floor Managers at any Walmart stirred up. Bring in your own bags with their Competitors Label on them. Talk about so called MOD's getting nervous. He he.

12. I bring my own bags and they use everything but them.

I had some brown paper bags in with them and they used only the paper ones. They put small, light items in the sturdy bags and loaded up the older more worn one with all the heavy items. I am beginning to think it is they are trying to pay us back for supporting reusable bags. They will use anything but my reusable bags!!!!

That would remedy the bag situation. As for the lack of cashiers --- I don't know. I refuse to use self-check-out lines unless I only have less than 10 items. For regular groceries I go to regular checkouts...and even in the local grocery they never have enough of them open.

Cheap corprat stupidity. Ugh.

How long were the lines? The reason that self checkout exists is because there are people who refuse to wait 5 minutes for a cashier.

The plastic bag ban thing has created quite a controversy.

We have state Rep who owns a successful grocery store. He introduced a bill to ban all plastic bag bans. in an interview, he claimed that plastic bags are cheaper to produce than paper bags. Nice of him to only think of his bottom line, right? Then you have all the people who are so set in their ways, they complain about plastic bag bans, because it's something new and different for them to deal with, and they don't like change.

If I were in the state legislature, this is what I would say to stores and businesses. Go ahead and give out all the plastic bags you want, if you think your customers are going to be so inconvenienced. Nobody will stop you. HOWEVER, we are going to institute a tax on all businesses that give them out. Figure out a number. say, 3 cents per bag. Estimate the number of bags each business uses and go by that. And then the money accrued from that tax will go towards cleanup of lakes, rivers, and roadways, that get clogged with the darn plastic bags. If they want to be so pig-headed about plastic bags, make them pay for it!

I'm sure our Republican majority legislature will go for it ..... NOT.

19. I'm old and cranky and I'm a "no bags" man at WalMart these days. I can change and go with

the flow, I can say yes and I can say no. I do some shopping at Smiths here and they provide a
dandy full-size paper bag with handles at no cost...
