Republican Politicians have become a stain on and threat to American Democracy

This is specifically in regards to an attempt by the Republicans in the Kentucky Legislature to strip Governor Beshear, a Democrat, of his power to issue Executive Orders, but it could refer to any number of things over the years.

They tell us that "Elections have consequences" and that if we want to hold power or do stuff, we have to win elections.

BUT:

They routinely gerrymander and suppress votes so badly, especially in Republican-controlled states, that it's a lot harder to win elections in the first place, so, already, we're at a disadvantage in terms of winning elections.

President Obama went to fill a Supreme Court seat and Mitch McConnell told him, no, and said that we needed to win another election in order to fill it (despite President Obama having already won two terms and was a duly elected sitting President with enough time still on the clock to fill it).

Democrats impeached President Trump, but Republicans refused to convict him because they said that the proper remedy to Trump's wrongdoing is another election (despite the fact that Pence would have replaced him and the WH wouldn't have changed party hands).

In recent years, Democrats WON elections in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Kentucky and Republicans in those states are now saying that we can't do anything there without their permission.

So.......democracy for me (Republicans), but not for thee (Democrats)?!
