6. "Kennedy believes climate change is not a threat tomorrow, but a crisis yesterday."
Congressman Kennedy believes climate change is not a threat tomorrow, but a crisis yesterday. A supporter of the Green New Deal, he supports aggressive Congressional action to protect our health, environment, safety and economic stability. He has prioritized the development of a clean energy workforce as well as combating the impact of climate change on working and middle-class communities that bear the brunt of inaction. Etcetera, etcerta.
Like Markey, the Newton Democrat has received high grades from environmental groups for his votes in Congress and is an original House co-sponsor of the Green New Deal. “Joe supports an aggressive move to net-zero emissions and a nationwide mobilization to address the climate crisis,” Kennedy spokeswoman Emily Kaufman told Boston.com in a statement.
“He believes we must prioritize health, safety, risks and costs for frontline and fenceline communities, American workers, and all those already forced to bear the brunt of our inadequate climate policy and broken energy infrastructure,” Kaufman said. Etcetera, etcetera. Took seconds to pull those and many others up, grabbed the top two. Btw, the League of Conservation Voters endorsed Markey, an endorsement he's earned. But as a young, relative newbie Joe Kennedy's annual and lifetime ratings are also very high. Not exactly the enemy. A little information is a good thing. |

7. Nonsense as Usual
I don't know what it is about the Green New Deal, but its most ardent backers can't seem to stop themselves from attacking Democrats by falsely claiming they oppose it.
Joe Kennedy supports the Green New Deal. End of story, really. |

8. A third candidate also supports the GND and is also attacked.
![]() OR that the problem to defeat is on the right. Instead, attacking Democratic alliances is always the priority of zealous leaders, Democrats forming them portrayed as betrayers, and the Democrats most effective at creating them as corrupt. Or in Markey's case not really one of the other Democrat. And that's why that sort are always part of the problem, self-exiled from those working on the solution. |

Dilettante. But then I’m not entitled to. Massachusetts voters get to see who will have the seat.

I watched the debate highlights. I am a MA resident. Never seen Sen Markey vote against what I would want. I think he's a stand-up guy. Why should I vote for Kennedy? ![]() |

12. Vote for him or don't
But there's no reason for GND supporters or anyone else to resort to lying about Kennedy's record. It just doesn't help their case. I happen to like both Markey and Kennedy and suspect that Markey isn't interested in lying about Kennedy either. |

14. I won't....
and it's because he didn't give a substantive response to a single question during the debate. That's why people assume he is against the Green New Deal, he waffles when asked about it. Kennedy's main goal (though he never says it out loud, he implies it) seems to be to work with Republicans in order to "get things done". And also to be younger than Sen Markey, and a Kennedy. He's got a lock on the last 2.

. . . . . running against Ed Markey.
